Bottle at the RAF 2003: Dark tangerine. . . Big yeasty aroma, along with some bread and cloves. Might have just a bit too much yeasty flavours for me, but overall good spices mixed with some light citrus and a good malt presence. TAR (2787) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - MAR 3, 2003
Burnt amber. Tiny bubbled off white foam. Aroma of lemon drop, herbs, pepper, dough, and flowers. Flavors are full of bitter orange rind, honey blossom, and clove. Well done Belgian ale. Jokes (1455) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2003
This was a nice surprise to see at the Real Ale Fest. A nice, spicy tripel. Aroma is soft spice and yeast. Orange, coriander, clove and yeast go with the nice sweetness from the sugar. I found this to be really tasty and a pleasure to drink. Now, if only we could find more of this in Chicago. Not likely.
