Burnt amber. Tiny bubbled off white foam. Aroma of lemon drop, herbs, pepper, dough, and flowers. Flavors are full of bitter orange rind, honey blossom, and clove. Well done Belgian ale. Jokes (1455) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2003
This was a nice surprise to see at the Real Ale Fest. A nice, spicy tripel. Aroma is soft spice and yeast. Orange, coriander, clove and yeast go with the nice sweetness from the sugar. I found this to be really tasty and a pleasure to drink. Now, if only we could find more of this in Chicago. Not likely. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - DEC 2, 2007
Draught at brewpub. This is the 10th rating for this brew, so I get to put it on the map. Sweet, unique aroma. Indicates dessert beer qualities. Clear amber body with a white head and excellent lace. Allspice notes in the palate. It’s higher strength is evident. Coriander also detectable. Unique and excellent brew. iwantalambic (1478) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 9, 2003
Bottle at the RAF 2003: Dark tangerine. . . Big yeasty aroma, along with some bread and cloves. Might have just a bit too much yeasty flavours for me, but overall good spices mixed with some light citrus and a good malt presence. bhensonb (15758) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 1, 2011
Bomber from Schultsc. Thanks for the great trade for this bottle filled in 2002!!! Pours very dark brown with a fizzy transient light tan head. Aroma is like mildly sour cola with raisin. Med body. Pretty smooth. Light heat. Dark malt, chocolate and raisin flavors. It is amazing how this has aged. It seems fresh!

2002 bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark brown with a delicious plum and chocolate aroma and a thin tan head. There is a slightly sour dark fruit flavor that has mellowed over the years, blending well with the spices and candi sugar. A very pleasant drink. papajohn (1340) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - SEP 13, 2007

O’Brien’s: Deep amber color with a medium bright white head. Flavor starts rich with tropical fruit and a touch of honey followed by a spicy hop bitterness and a light, dry citrus rind finish . Medium-full body is creamy with moderate carbonation.
Draft. Clear copper color with a frothy ivory head. Spicy, phenolic nose with some warm malt and banana notes- this came as a surprise since when I ordered it the bartender told me it was an American Strong Ale. Sweet and somewhat hot. Bready malt flavors with some spiciness. Dry and musty. Slight astringency. Nice. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - AUG 2, 2007
