3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A: The beer pours a dark brown color with some reddish notes and a finger of off-white head.
S: Straw and grass aromas are prominent on the aroma. Overall, though, it’s sort of watery. Some dark fruit notes, especially cherries and raisins. There is a mild oak and a little bit of lemon peel.
T: Sort of sour and musty on the flavor with a fair amount of straw and grass, just like on the nose. A good amount of oak with a mild roast character. A weird combination of green apple, chocolate, and sawdust.
M: Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation.
O: Sort of like a homebrewer’s first attempt at a sour. Not really bad, but nothing that made me want to drink more of it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap during Beachwood’s Sourfest. Pours with a hazed bronze body with a tan head. Aromas of red wine, light roast, funk, grass, peppery phenols and some coriander. Flavors of weed (yes, weed), red wine, funk, phenol, grassy with a light berry note. Medium to light body, fruity. The odd weed note is nearly like a lightstruck skunk character. Odd.

Pours a nice dark purple. Aroma of blackberries. Palate a little too thick. Not enough flavor and not enough sour.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Pours a dark bruin body with a yellow off white head with a great retention and light lacing on the glass. Brett, coriander and earth tones. Reminiscent of BF kegs gone wild. Light herbal hop tones, dry grains a with a soft sour finish and low acidity.

Tap at RnH. Mahogany pour with minimal white head. Aroma has some cocoa, some strawberry, and some coconut. Flavor has a similarly odd roasty-tart-sweet combo to it. More toasted coconut and oak with vinegar and roasted malt. There’s a slight tart stickiness that is pleasant. I’m not sure I get these beers.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at BGH. Lightly roasty, dry, chalky character, with a decent, albeit strange acetic acid character, that in retrospect has turned up in all of their sour beers. Apparently they used the same California wild yeast blend in all of these. Eh. The roast is way better here than in some of the others, with a balancing lactic acid. Oddly composed, overall.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Bar Great Harry. Pours a hazy brown with a medium beige head. Great soft funk and light sour tones. Gentle chocolate and malt. Big effervescence, way too much carbonation makes this really tough to drink. Chocolate, sourness, wood, light acid. Would have been much better if the carbonation hadn’t gotten in the way.
