"dingadingdangdong!!! had this as a "nightcap" after the dipa fest at the bistro. they replaced the burton baton when it blew with this, and lucky me! if this is what is to come from BR dabbling with barrel aging, i’m excited. this just about held it’s own to Rodenbach Grand Cru! assertive but not overdone sourness, with a matching sweet cherry tartness and crazy complexity. great beer!!"

On tap at Jackie O’s. Pours murky rose red color with white head. Aroma is acidic, tart, fruity, and funky. Lively carbonated. Flavors are upfront very fruity, tart, but not overly tart, and finishes with a touch of brett. Real nice and glad I got to try it. JaBier (8156) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - SEP 13, 2010
Sample during Jackie O’s BBDA and Oil of Aphrodite Release and Barrel aged Beer Festival on 9/11/10. Clear copper pour with a medium off-white head. Tart cherry nose with vinegar notes. Crazy sour nose, which is not what I expected out of Bear Republic. Flavor is sour vinegar with some cherries and the bitter hop finish that we all know and love from the regular version of Crazy Ivan. Very nicely done. 5th Annual Bistro BA Festival. Very earthy. Dry with a woody bitterness. Sour/vinegar aroma - fairly acetic. Not much hops left besides a pleasant lemony quality. Good mild caramel. Dark amber, transparent, with a small white head. AcctError43480 (235) - Columbus, USA - SEP 14, 2010
