Tried it at the brewery... Dark brown color, and slightly sweet taste with flavors of bread, molasses. First belgian type beer ever tried from Bear Republic. Drinkable, but nothing exciting. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - MAR 27, 2009
Dark reddish brown. Sweet molasses and brown sugar aroma and taste with a sticky palate and finish. SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - MAR 23, 2009
Draught at the brewpub. Dark opaque brown with a beige head. Yeasty, brown sugar, molasses and pear aroma. The flavor is sweet and yeasty, with brown sugar, bubble-gum, and clove spiciness. Thick and sticky body. Overall just on the sweet, sticky, yeasty side. Drinkable, but could use better attenuation.
