COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dont be fooled by this innocent beast. Handcrafted by the Bear Republic Brewing Team this Belgian Brown incorporates a trifecta of sugars including our homemade candied syrup. On tap at Bulldog. The waitresses were insisting on only halves or regular sized servings. No Pints. They freaked when I did order a regular and then a Pint. Of course I regretted it the next day, but man, this big malt, molasses filled brew is dangerously drinkable. Smooth, touches of chocolate and brown sugar. It is very deceptive and numerous non-beer geeks in our group got quit loopy. Loved this stuff. Will seek out again.

Tap at Bear Republic. Dark brown color with a substantial beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, brown sugar, and dark fruits. Sweet caramel malt on the flavor with dark fruits, spices, banana, and a little slight roast. Alcohol noticeable. Smooth, fairly full palate. One of the better beers I had on this trip to B-Rep.

On tap. Dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy light brown head. Distinct aroma of strong licorice. Quite full-bodied, lots of hard roasted malt and fruit and again licorice. Hard roasted malt finish. Unusual but delicious. 110709

sampled at FOBAB 2009... pours a muddy dark brown with reddish brown edges.... sour lacto milky vinegar with sour grapes aroma... flavors much atune to a sour brown with tart vinegar aspects. some sweetness and cherries intertwine with a spiced-up finish. medium mouthfeel with a smooth body and semi-lively carbonation....i must have liked this one seeing that i actually have notes at this point.

Tap @ Hamiltons. Opaque dark brown with a small beige ring. Brown sugar, candied apples and roasted malts on the nose. Flavor was fairly sweet, almost cloying, pretty tasty overall.

Draft. A dark chestnut colored beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, yeast, wood, and wine. The flavor is sweet - a bit too sweet, with notes of malt, caramel, spices, nuts, yeast, and wood, leading to a dry spicy finish.
