On tap at Bear Republic. We heard the guys at Russian River mention that Bear Republic wasn’t that far from Santa Rosa, so we stopped by to check it out. Didn’t realize they had so much on tap that isn’t bottled. Orange haze color. Head fades away quickly. Still looks like a very nice hefeweizen. Bubblegum, sugar, yeast, and banana pop out and smack me in the face. The sugar and bubblegum seem to be dominating here. Subtle citrus aroma and flavor, but not much in comparison with other hefes. Creamy texture is a plus, but this is marginally so. Banana, bubblegum, and sugar dominate the flavor. At least the banana flavor coming from the yeast balance out with the sugar and bubblegum. Seems a bit too artificial. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2010

Murky, dirty yellow brown colour with no head. Pukey wheat, some salt and vinegar crisps and very little else. Faint estery notes just about pull it into weizen territory but overall, it’s just not a good beer at all.
On tap at The Rake. I mean it does just smell of puke. Better in mouth with some soft banana and soft, ripe orange. Finish has a bit more banana. But that aroma is most unattractive. vtafro (7444) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JAN 11, 2010
Draft. Golden orange pour with some white head. Hints of lemon and citrus in the wheat along with spices.ok. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 19, 2009
Sampled during RBSG 7/11/2009 on tap at the brewery. This hefeweizen pours a slightly hazy light gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is wheat and cereal. A medium bodied wheat. The malts are cereal and sweet. The hops are spicy. Touch of banana and clove. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Golden yellow with white head. Almost APA like in its hoppage - fairly good for a Germ Hef. Finishes dry. DocLock (10975) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 3, 2009
Draft at Craft. Poured hazy gold with 1-finger white head. Nose was hopcitrus, slight fruit, spice, mild funk. Tastes pale malty, with some apricotty/pear, hopcitrus, and some late sweetness. Not a typical hefe, and not a great one. blipp (9598) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 2, 2009
Draft. Wine Country. Pours gold with a white head. Sweet aroma of banana, apple and light spice. The flavor has apple, banana, some floral notes and some spice. Interesting. Certainly not your average hefe. bu11zeye (13139) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - AUG 21, 2009
(Draught, labeled Bear Republic Wine Country Wheat) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a moderate white head. Aroma of wheat, banana, florals, and clove. Flavor of wheat, earth, grass, and toasted grain. More of an American Wheat. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - AUG 15, 2009
Cloudy orange with a fizzy white head. Banana bread lemon and clove aroma and taste with an earthy finish.
