COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Batch 5000 commemorates a very special moment in our brewing history, the official five-thousandth batch of Beau’s beer. This limited-edition beer was created to say “Cheers!” to Beau’s 10th Birthday. Raise a glass and help us celebrate 10 great years! Farmhouse ales have roots in Belgium; a category of typically dry and refreshing beers brewed to be enjoyed as a reward for a hard’s day’s work. Our “Wild Ontario” version is made with Ontario wheat, all Ontario hops, and wild yeast from Ontario’s Escarpment Labs. Consider this beer “Yours to Discover!”

fiery1 (1587) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 5, 2017
500ml bottle @ the office. Pours a hazy golden blonde colour with a thin white head. Nose is lightly tart, some Brett, and a mild farmhouse yeast. Flavour is cardboard, mild farmhouse yeast, it finishes with a light bitterness. Nothing special.

Bottle - Sour white grape and some hay. Cloudy gold with a small white head. Light soured woody and some hay with a long funky finish.

Oakes (18594) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 5, 2017
Hazy blonde without much head. On the nose, there's definitely some brett, even that horseblanket stuff. Smells pretty good, actually. A touch of tartness, definitely some brett, and some dusty stuff. There's some sticky malts underneath, and coriander notes. It comes across okay.

600ml bottle at Brian's office. Pours a hazy vl9nde with a white head. Aroma is very funky. Similar taste with cardboard notes. Not good.

600mL bottle, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out farmhouse yeast, some light tartness and brett. Flavour is a bit oxidized, with cardboard, light farmhouse yeast, and light tartness. Nose is better than the flavour, which has totally fallen off. Not too good.

I’m starting to dislike’s Beau. Their category are off, and you get a 50/50 chance of getting something worth your money. This is more of a Brett IPA, which is far for me from a saison. It is an ok IPA, but if I were to rate it as a saison, rating would be lower.

A cloudy golden look. Lemon, honey, with very subtle toffee. A little peppery on the palate.

blankboy (7792) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 17, 2017
[Bottle (600ml)] Pours a cloudy golden-orange with an average size lasting frothy white head. Good amount of lacing. Aroma (7+) is Bretty, citrusy and grainy first followed by more fruit and some herbs. Bretty/yeasty flavour along with herbs and citrus. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

5000th batch of one of my favourite Canadian breweries, and my 1000th rating on RateBeer! Thanks Beau’s for helping me get this far and continuing to invigorate the Canadian beer scene, kudos! Golden sparkling beer with a bright white head. Smells soapy and like that pleasantly scented kitty litter. Some grass and berry. Taste has lots of straw like grain and dry funk, tastes like the fields that it came from, wild and free. Slight creaminess in the palate and hop oil, medium bodied and easy to drink, excellent beer.

Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - DEC 4, 2016
On tap at Le Bateau de Nuit: Clear yellow color, visually weak because it was served in a regular glass. The smell and feel is very fresh. Nice brett flavor with some tasty malts and fruity citrus. The finish is medium strength with leafy hops. Medium body with prickly carbonation. Good balance, not too sweet, and just the right amount of tart. Overall good quality craft, could be very good if bottled.
