2018-03-17. Crisp dark amber body, large foamy beige head. Aroma of dusty malt, lightly toasty and muted fruit. Flavour is moderately bitter throughout. Nice malty core, notes of fruit and caramel touches. Toasty malt undertones. Average bodied palate, lots of carbonation. Decent take on the style, well balanced and drinkable but not super exciting. 7/4/7/3/14-15 Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto.

Gorgeous amber pour topped by a tight off-white head. The aroma is slightly sweet. A bit nutty and crackery with some soft leafy hop aroma. Medium-bodied with a little bit of fruit and some soft sweeetness. It's got solid balance. There's a very slight plasticy malt flavour that I don't totally care for but the integration is pretty solid otherwise. blankboy (7968) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 13, 2018
[Bottle (600ml)] Pours a nice-looking clear orange-amber with an average size semi-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of biscuity malt, toffee and fruit followed by light hops. Flavour follows, biscuity malt along with fruit and light hops. Medium bodied. Enjoyable. stef73 (718) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 11, 2018
Bottle. Slightly cloudy caramel pour with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, some earthy and slight fruity hops. Taste is about the same, some classic ESB character but not as much as expected - yet still a decent beer, good balance.

600 ml bottle from LCBO (part of Winter 2018 mix pack). Pours a cloudy dull orange colour wit modest-sized eggshell-coloured head. Aroma is caramel, nuts, toast and a little herbal character. Flavour has caramel, herbs, nuts and toasted grains. Average body. Nice. Gluepot (783) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 18, 2018
An amber/tea coloured body with a dense off-white head. The nose is soft grainy malt with hints of honey and chocolate. A tasty new world take on the classic ESB. The hint of fruity hops is blended well with classic ESB elements - dark sweet caramel malt, grain, honey and mixed nuts, which come out as the beer approaches room temperature. A satisfying ale. UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Bottle from 4-pack winter sampler. The Persian poet Hafiz famously said “I’ve said it before & i’ll say it again” & I too will say it again: the fact the Beaus keeps shoving Lug Treads into their seasonal sampler boxes is really lame. But this beer: dining room table brown with a persistent ring of thin foam across the surface. This style could use some New World reinvention but this brew is almost about that but just slightly misses the reinvention I’m waiting for. Regardless, this is a tasty & goes down nicely & i’d rather swill this than a session ipa. Close to burnt brown sugar, herbal hops, root vegetable middle, lovely bitterness in the finish. I’m thinking a couple of innovative tweaks — innovative dry hopping maybe? — & this could be the high water mark for the style.

pours crystal clear bright copper-orange with a small kind of reviving light beige cap offering some retention and lacing. browned caramel maltiness, never too toffee, and toasted salted biscuits, soft dusty grassiness with a drop of english spice, hint of sweetness - grapey caramel; particularly clean english yeast action - tiny slice of butter add-up. moderate carbonation, light body - oily; semi-sweet yet kind of drying spicy-herbal finish. english-ey malt bill decently defined but overall it is slightly lacking in character for an esb, a rather faint goldings that is. enjoyable nonetheless. Nutty malt with some caramel sweetness balanced out with a moderate amount of hops. Pretty accurate reproduction of the brewery's description of what they were trying to do. Solid beer
