The Beau’s Farm Table Series features easy-drinkin’ amiable beers that are true to style. Farm Table Helles is a brilliant straw-coloured blond lager. A bona fide Bavarian beer garden classic, the Helles style balances a mildly bready, malt-accented flavour with subtle and delicate hops that linger to enjoy.

The beer pours a translucent metallic gold colour with plenty of effervescence leading to a long lasting snow white head which laced very well. The aroma is cereal malt, herbal hops, weak yeast, and weak citrus. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is dominated by grains with a weak hop and yeast presence. Quite one dimensional I think.

August 21, 2015 - at Bar Hop, on draught. Clear light brassy gold, a bit greenish, nice off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet, grassy, toasty and tangy cereal. Taste is sweeter - but clean and a bit floral. Slick, nice carbonation, light body - lightning-quick finish with a little heather/timothy aftertaste. Not really my thing, but crisp and clean; refreshing.

The aroma is a little but sweet and a touch grassy. There is a bit of graininess and a fairly unrefined malt profile. They have a really distinct house character in their lagers and it ain’t good. Sulfur and a bit of biscuity notes. Honey and a bit of mustiness. Meh.

[7809-20151011] Tap. Light straw grains aroma. Clear, pale yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Grassy straw flavour has a sweet mineral earth finish. Medium body. Average. (5/3/5/3/10) 2.6

From a bottle to a lager glass. Smell is bread (whole grain bread?)and noble hops. Taste is likewise, with a good bitterness to it. The finish is long and bitter. I think I’m not a fan of the style.

600 ml bottle. Pours a clear straw with a short lived white head. Aroma is pale malt, fresh cereal, herbal hop. Flavor is german malt. Finish is grassy, nice bitterness, noble hops. Lingering biterness. Light to medium body, average carbonation.

(bottle) clear, bright yellow olour with a medium tall white head; aroma of noble hops, whole wheat bread; creamy palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish; well done
