COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden Vox is a rye pale lager that was conceived and brewed collaboratively between Beau’s and Canadian hip hop artist k-os. The recipe is a blend of rye and barley malts and 100% Ontario-grown hops, with just a kiss of whiskey, courtesy of a light aging on rye-soaked oak spirals. GoldenVox was created for the Collaboration Nation competition in June 2015, which takes place at Session Toronto Craft Beer Festival.

With a bit of teasing this has a nice foamy head on top of your usual orange lager body. Lots of bread on the nose, fresh baked from Woodward's in 1989 at the back of the store, possibly $1.49 day bread and also hints of that floor wax they used to use there before all the homeless people moved in. Flavour is mediocre lager grain with some strong rye hints. Good oiliness on the mouth, some sugar. Not bad anyways, not memorable.

A pillowy white head on a lager/gold body. Nose is citrus and and sweet malt. An innovative take on the lager beer! The body is rich and dense for a lager, but remains refreshing and clean. Honey, grain, light tropical and floral hops, sweet bready malt and a touch of orange lead the taste profile. Very juicy, balanced and fresh.

pours a light orange with creamy white head. beautiful floral aromas with some hay, pepper and other spices. taste is light rye with heavy bitter hops. Finish is pure bitterness. Unfortunately, this had a lot of potential but seems to be ruined with an unnecessarily high IBU.

On tap at Randolph Rosemont. Clear yellow-gold pour with thin white head. Aroma is grainy, nice spicy rye character, light woodiness, black pepper. Taste is spicy, bready notes, light floral like flavors. Palate is light bodied, nice carbonation, dry. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

600ml brown bottle. Bright golden colour, thick white cap. Nose has nutty oaky rye. Taste rye grains, caramel, toasty notes. Rye aftertaste with some fairly strong bitterness. Nice.

Bottled, from LCBO. Clear golden, small head. Peppery bready nose with faint notes of bubblegum. Mid dry with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Fruity and bready, spicy with pepper and some sassafrass. Long bitter finish.

Bottled. Clear body with a big white head. The aroma is malty and sweet with nuts and grapes. The flavor is very hoppy with a good chunk of fruityness. It’s bitter but not in a dry-hopped way. Very well balanced although slightly boring.

Bottle, sent by Robbie and shared at game night. Medium golden, average white head. Grainy, lightly spicy and sweet, but no detectable rye whiskey to me, A touch of green hop character, mild bitterness.

I had such high hopes for this beer. I guess I had another idea of what a Rye Pale Lager should be. Smells very hoppy, sour. Pours a gold colour with head that disappears quickly. Taste is just too hoppy for me. Very sour. Sour lingering aftertaste. Good carbonation. Overall Im glad I tried it, but will avoid in the future. I was hoping it was more like Lugtread with rye. I was wrong. MB The Beer Bearon
