Bouteille 660 ml. 5.6%.
On tap at bar hop for TBW 2012. Gold with a delicate white head. Aroma is yeasty, a little sweet and woody. Light body, a slightly sour flavor throughout. Clean finish. Tasty. Boutip (6486) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 7, 2012
Bottle: Poured a cloudy light orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light dry hops with medium bitterness level with some lightly sweet malt backbone and very light oak notes. Taste is also dominated by medium bitter notes with dry notes and some light oak with a medium sweet malt backbone. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Bourbon was a lot more subtle then I would have expected and hops profile not as powerful as expected. I’m still to taste a good IPA that was barrel-aged. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 4, 2012
600 ml bottle from the brewery, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 20AU12.JoeMcPhee (9519) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 27, 2012
App.: Clear deep amber with a large, fluffy, off-white head.
Aroma: Nice fruity, earthy, woodsy malts, vinous, a touch of brighter fruitiness, a little citrus, resinous/peppery hops.
Palate: Medium body, medium-low effervescence.
Flav.: Burnt sugar, earthy, British toffee/caramel maltiness, resinous hops, a little fruitiness, maybe a little barrel character, but not much; dry with decent bitterness and a dark rye crust malt finish.
I was relieved that the wood didn’t take over.
Pale golden - orange. The nose is a little bit spicy with some light vanilla and a touch of oak. Some light orange and peppery spice in addition to some soft light sweet malt. A bit of toasted barrel character. Pretty solid stuff actually.

An orange amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, fruity mangoes, kiwis, caramel malt, berries, but no bourbon barrel. In mouth, a nutty and harsh caramel malt with loads of herbal mineral hops, apricot pulp, rather fruity and bitter, strange and not what I expected. On tap at Arrow and Loon, August 26, 2012. garthicus (2942) - Dublin, IRELAND - AUG 26, 2012
Bottle. Appearance: Cloudy red/orange, medium off white head. Aroma: woody, malty, good amount of hops, bourbon, wheat. Flavour: Citrus, wood and bourbon, hoppy with a decent bitter finish. HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 14, 2012
600ml bottle. Dark brown colour and a huge, fluffy eggshell head. Very weak aroma, touch of citrus, whiskey and wood. Taste is piney and earthy and the whiskey, vanilla and wood of the barrel aging come through much better than the smell. Good thickness to the body. Overall, the barrel aging added something, otherwise it is kind of ho hum. robinvboyer (4741) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 11, 2012
Bottle from the brewery.
Hazy amber pour, big white head. Aroma of piney hops, bready malts, booze, and quie a bit of vanilla oakiness. Finish is quite bitter, sweet woody notes with a subtle hoppiness comes through the booze and wood. cfrancis (3536) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 8, 2012
Pours a copper orange with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is earthy hops, caramel malt and some off medicinal that mixes with the faint oak. Taste is dry oak with earthy hoppy bitterness. Nicely warming hop bitterness and caramel malts. Great effort.
