An orange amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, fruity mangoes, kiwis, caramel malt, berries, but no bourbon barrel. In mouth, a nutty and harsh caramel malt with loads of herbal mineral hops, apricot pulp, rather fruity and bitter, strange and not what I expected. On tap at Arrow and Loon, August 26, 2012. jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 20, 2013
2012-01-18. Lightly hazy bright orange body with a large foamy off white head and lace. 3++ Modest aroma, muted citrus and musty dusty quality to it. 7++ Flavour is similar, nice citrusy hops, lightly musty oaky touches. Pleasant bitterness. 7+ Average plus body with suitable carbonation. Decent, not particularly strong barrel character to it’s benefit. Enjoyable. 3+ Bottle via trade with cfrancis JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 27, 2012
"The tubes! THE TUBES!"
Pale golden - orange. The nose is a little bit spicy with some light vanilla and a touch of oak. Some light orange and peppery spice in addition to some soft light sweet malt. A bit of toasted barrel character. Pretty solid stuff actually.

[5074-20130118] 650 bottle. Grainy wood aroma has a bunch of fruitiness in the aroma. Slightly hazy, orange brown body with a huge long-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter sweaty needle flavour has a lingering bitter aftertaste. Medium-full body. Good. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

Overheard: "I went to go see that movie for free and I wanted my money back."
pours hazy dark golden with a very nice frothy off-white head, good retention and lacing. off-graininess, citrusy, metallic, bland fruitiness and toastiness, very light woody notes along with citrusy-strawberry fading hops, some sweetness, almost cloying. average carbonation, but kind of disturbing, as in too much bottle refermentation. non-barreled aged version is clearly a stronger brew.

Bottle [600ml] shared with HogTownHarry, jerc & mabel -- c/o j&m. Pours a hazy golden-orange with a large lasting rocky white head and with some lacing on the glass. Aroma is lightly sweet along with light hops, pale malt, light oak and citrus. Flavour of caramel malt, grain, light hops, light oak and an average bitter finish. Average bodied. Not much was added by the barrel-aging, which I don’t mind, but overall it’s just "good". HogTownHarry (6925) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - JUN 28, 2014
2013-01-18 - with blankboy, jercraigs & mabel - Cloudy and bubbly amber-tinged gold with a huge lasting fluffy/pillowy off-white head. Aroma is floral and vaguely tree/tropical fruit sweet with maybe a whisper of oak tannin - mild. Taste is very nice indeed - follows the aroma, but more fruit and citrus, decent restraint to the barrel, some alcohol - average body, medium finish, and frankly the rest of my notes are just silly ;) Boutip (6380) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 7, 2012
Bottle: Poured a cloudy light orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light dry hops with medium bitterness level with some lightly sweet malt backbone and very light oak notes. Taste is also dominated by medium bitter notes with dry notes and some light oak with a medium sweet malt backbone. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Bourbon was a lot more subtle then I would have expected and hops profile not as powerful as expected. I’m still to taste a good IPA that was barrel-aged. robinvboyer (4677) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 11, 2012
Bottle from the brewery.
Hazy amber pour, big white head. Aroma of piney hops, bready malts, booze, and quie a bit of vanilla oakiness. Finish is quite bitter, sweet woody notes with a subtle hoppiness comes through the booze and wood. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 4, 2012
600 ml bottle from the brewery, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 20AU12.
App.: Clear deep amber with a large, fluffy, off-white head.
Aroma: Nice fruity, earthy, woodsy malts, vinous, a touch of brighter fruitiness, a little citrus, resinous/peppery hops.
Palate: Medium body, medium-low effervescence.
Flav.: Burnt sugar, earthy, British toffee/caramel maltiness, resinous hops, a little fruitiness, maybe a little barrel character, but not much; dry with decent bitterness and a dark rye crust malt finish.
I was relieved that the wood didn’t take over.
