600 ml bottle. Pours a clear pale orange amber with a resilient white head. Smell is very hoppy, herbal. Taste is fresh cereal, caramel, sweet. Some herbal, citrusy bitterness. Bitterness grows on, lots of grapefruit and lime. Oak is perceptible, although it feels young, fresh. It’s very subtle. Medium bodied, foamy, almost creamy mouthfeel. Solid IPA. Pale golden - orange. The nose is a little bit spicy with some light vanilla and a touch of oak. Some light orange and peppery spice in addition to some soft light sweet malt. A bit of toasted barrel character. Pretty solid stuff actually.

Bouteille 660 ml. 5.6%. Couleur ambrée, mousse blanche. Arôme de malt, herbes et un peu de bois. En bouche, moins d’agrume que la IP Eh normale, un peu de chêne, malt et un peu de caramel. Très bonne. Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 10, 2013
Bottle, thank you Colin! Medium orange, frothy bubbly white head. Wood, fruit, some vanilla, more citrus in pleasant aroma. Taste is pretty good - sweetness up front, light tingly body, giving way to a nice amount of citrus hop bitterness and warming alcohol. I was worried the body might be too light for a barrel, but they did a very nice job of blending and achieving balance here. Gets more bitter on subsequent sips. A fine effort. 2013-01-18 - with blankboy, jercraigs & mabel - Cloudy and bubbly amber-tinged gold with a huge lasting fluffy/pillowy off-white head. Aroma is floral and vaguely tree/tropical fruit sweet with maybe a whisper of oak tannin - mild. Taste is very nice indeed - follows the aroma, but more fruit and citrus, decent restraint to the barrel, some alcohol - average body, medium finish, and frankly the rest of my notes are just silly ;)

Bottle from the brewery.
Hazy amber pour, big white head. Aroma of piney hops, bready malts, booze, and quie a bit of vanilla oakiness. Finish is quite bitter, sweet woody notes with a subtle hoppiness comes through the booze and wood. garthicus (2945) - Dublin, IRELAND - AUG 26, 2012
Bottle. Appearance: Cloudy red/orange, medium off white head. Aroma: woody, malty, good amount of hops, bourbon, wheat. Flavour: Citrus, wood and bourbon, hoppy with a decent bitter finish. Boutip (6533) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 7, 2012
Bottle: Poured a cloudy light orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light dry hops with medium bitterness level with some lightly sweet malt backbone and very light oak notes. Taste is also dominated by medium bitter notes with dry notes and some light oak with a medium sweet malt backbone. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Bourbon was a lot more subtle then I would have expected and hops profile not as powerful as expected. I’m still to taste a good IPA that was barrel-aged. rejtable (2839) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 30, 2012
Pours orange with a small off white head and good lacing. Nice malt backing with a big bitter hop finish. Not getting much from the barrel ageing though. Overally really nice effort. HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 14, 2012
600ml bottle. Dark brown colour and a huge, fluffy eggshell head. Very weak aroma, touch of citrus, whiskey and wood. Taste is piney and earthy and the whiskey, vanilla and wood of the barrel aging come through much better than the smell. Good thickness to the body. Overall, the barrel aging added something, otherwise it is kind of ho hum.
