COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong & dark beer, inspired by the Alfred bog, is our very first seasonal offering. Featuring bog myrtle, or sweet gale, harvested from the wilds of northern Quebec. This ancient herb was used in brewing hundreds of years ago and offers bitterness, a sweet aroma and herbal spicy notes.

Bottled on November 13, 2014. Batch #3956. Muddy brown in colour with a thin white head, little lacing. The aroma is fruity, herbal, spice and bread. The flavour is light bitter, some spice, herbal, earthy. Finishes long, sweet to start turning herbal.

Smells of yeast with moist leaves, caramel, cloves. Marky brown with a white lacy head. Tastes of ripe vegetables with berries, caramel and yeasty finish. Barley. Tastes like a barley wine but with less sweetness. Herbal

This one poured a cloudy amber colour with a nice creamy head. Some lacing. Scents include salon perm solution, very ripe fruit and apricot. First swig was creamy with light carbonation. Flavours of ripe fruit and a little caramel. Finish was a little bitter with that ripe fruit flavour lingering.

Trs agrable.

Brownish pour, decent sized head. Muted aroma, carael, herbs, (myrtle?). Roasted malt, caramel, herbs and spice, lemon, actually quite different, if not complex. Medium body. Definitely unique.

This thing foamed up big time. Very active head. Not a ton of aroma on the nose. This a recurring theme for Beaus in my opinion and something that plagues their brand. I got a bit of herbs, and flowers and maybe a hint of bitterness. A much more pronounced palate. Very herbal taste sensations, and definitely some sweetness shining through. A bit strange, maybe different is a better word as I was getting neither hops nor maltiness. Decided to read the attached card which explained what I was experiencing. Zero hops in this one and indeed it is a Gruit beer.

Dark brown slight hazy pour, off white head no lacing. Weak aroma, watery, a bit musky. sweet malt taste, caramel, slight spice. Fizzy mouth feel, a little thin.
