COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong & dark beer, inspired by the Alfred bog, is our very first seasonal offering. Featuring bog myrtle, or sweet gale, harvested from the wilds of northern Quebec. This ancient herb was used in brewing hundreds of years ago and offers bitterness, a sweet aroma and herbal spicy notes.

Bottle from LCBO. This beer pours a murky unfiltered deep maroon colour. With a 1/2 inch off white head, that dissipates to nothing, with minimal lacing. The aroma is herbal, almost reminds me of a forest or meadow, with a strong yeast presence. The taste is very interesting, with notes of coriander, orange peel, lots of yeast, and something that I just cant put a finger on..must be the myrtle. This beer is very refreshing and crisp, the lack of hops is quite distinct...yet it still works. This is an excellent beer that I must try again!

Spicy aroma, an appearance that fits the name. The taste is spicy , sweet, and sour all at once. An absolute delight in your mouth

Spicy yeast aroma, brown cloudy bog appearance, sour lime and lemon notes with hints of hops and spice. Tart on the tongue with a small bite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

600ml bottle bought at Le Gobelet in Dorion, QC. Poured into a tulip, colour is an attractive deep, hazy red-orange. 1cm head that dissipated quickly, no lacing on the glass. Aroma is full of berries and herbs - I didn’t get as much coriander as others here seem to have, but it’s there. Taste is sweet, malty with little bitterness. Finish is slightly tart, with a mild aftertaste of red currants and spice. Overall not my favourite style of beer, but drinkable nonetheless.
