Poured into a pint glass, a stark, opaque black colour with a thin head. Immediately, notes of cacao and coffee are apparent, as well as vanilla. The balance is very good and the burnt malt flavours are very subtle, bringing out the aforementioned flavours, making this a very distinct and easy drinking porter. Appearance: Pours an opaque dark mahogany brown with a couple fingers of tan head. Retention is short and lacing is slight.
Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, bit of charcoal and sweet pipe tobacco.
Flavours: Vanilla, chocolate, espresso, toffee.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and velvety with moderate viscosity and light carbonation.
Overall: This is a beautiful Porter with lots of vanilla flavour and it has a bit thicker mouthfeel than many other Porters I’ve had. This is one of the better beers that Beau’s brews in my opinion and I give it top marks for upfront aromas and lots of flavour.
Aroma of vanilla, a bit if red fruit and dark malts. Taste is much the same. A bit of pleasant acridness from the dark malt. Balanced and easy drinking. Well done. DerWeg (1682) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 3, 2013
Impenetrable dark brown, w creamy tan head. Great creamy palate with a welcome leafy sting of light hop bittering. Super tasty toffee-chocolate with a bit of vanilla in aroma and taste (had not noted ’vanilla’ in name before rating.) Dark fruit, dried Khadrawi dates. Nose and finish has a bit of spice. Only a hint of acridity and a little roast, nice palate. HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 13, 2013
600ml bottle. Very dark colour, slight brown around the edges, mocha head. Aroma is roasty malt, chocolate and coffee, very faint vanilla. Vanilla much more apparent in the taste, some coffee and chocolate too. Clean finish, medium body. Overall, I really liked this one.

Pours an opaque black with large tan head that settles to a small ring around the glass with a small amount of lace on the glass. Aroma is vanilla bean, cocoa, roasted malts and tobacco. Flavour is coffee, roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla, mild bitterness, and a medium dry finish. Tasty but I’m a sucker for vanilla in beer. Reimer96 (1743) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 21, 2013
Pours a clear black with a red tinge and a brown ring of head with some sticky lace. Aroma is a huge burst of vanilla, sweet chocolate and light amount of tobacco. Taste is a really good balance of chocolate, vanilla and some coffee on the finish as well. Nice lightly dry finish and overall a very well balanced beer. Bottle from the brewery. Deep brown body with a small cap of mocha foam. Not-too-sweet aroma of dark malt, vanilla bean, cocoa, and a bit of dried dark fruit. Medium bodied, perfect feel for a porter. Flavour follows the aroma in being sweet but not cloying, finding a good balance between slightly charred malt, sweet vanilla, and earthy hops. Quite nice! pootzboy (1737) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 16, 2013
sampled at Mondial - Deep dark brown-black , 2 finger tight mocha colored cap - pleasing cocoa-vanilla tones in the aroma, with light treacle and walnut undertones - Flavour is deeply roasty - coffee-cocoa with light sweetness and some amalgam with the vanilla, hops show up stronger in the finish which gets mildly bitter. A really well made flavoured porter that could be served alone if you have a urge for an vanilla drink but it is best served with desserts where the flavours really compliment cheese cake. This is a really nicely done spiced Porter. 600 mL bottle. Pours a dark chocolate with a substantial long-lasting head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Lots of taste on the palate. A nice long pleasant finish. Highly recommended.
