COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our annual feBREWary coffee + beer collaboration with Ottawas Bridgehead Roastery returns in 2014 with Collabrrrewnaut, a coffee-infused classic Bohemian Pilsner. This beer was lagered for six weeks then cold-infused with a Bridgehead Peruvian micro lot espresso roast, to create a harmonious juxtaposition of light and dark.

History & Style
The worlds first blond lager, Bohemian pilsners were first brewed in the mid-19th century. The style originated in the City of Plzen (Pilsen), part of the present-day Czech Republic. Known for its light, clear colour and clean, crisp finish, our Collabrrrewnaut sends the pilsner brewing tradition hurtling space years ahead of its time with a espresso-roast coffee infusion.

Tasting Notes
Collabrrrewnaut has an herbal, spicy noble hop aroma, with a subtle yet ever-present espresso note that lingers like the scent of coffee in a busy Czech caf. The beer possesses a mild bitterness, with a clean dry finish. Restrained nuances courtesy of the coffee suggest dried figs, nutty richness and chocolate as they intermingle with the classic Pilsner style.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2017 Jaune un peu orang voil avec col semi-crmeux. Nez herbeux et cafin. Au got, on distingue nettement les deux gots: une bonne pilsner et un caf amer. Les saveurs se lient joyeusement. Facilement buvable, quoiquun 600 ml, bon, a va aller. Vraiment intressant de retrouver le got de caf dans autre chose quune stout.

From 2016 Best of Beaus 4-pack. Pours canola yellow in the glass. Nice lacing. The good news is Ontario breweries are finally breaking out of the vice-grip of coffee stout/porters & are willing to mix it up with lighter hued brews with more shine. This is well crafted example of coffee infusion: a nicely made pils (not so easy to find in Ontario) with a nice bean roast. I think its balanced & hits the mark. Recommended. Appreciate the coffee boost tonight after a long week of drudgery at the education factory.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy golden pour with a rich white head. Aroma is mostly roasty, bitter espresso with hints of citrus and grains, a little nutty. Taste is sweeter than expected, a classic pilsner base but with a lot of interesting flavours layered in. Coffee is subtle in the taste, some grass, caramel and citrus notes. Definitely different, but pretty well balanced with nice coffee flavour, medium-sweet maltiness, a little bitterness with a slightly dry finish.

Pours golden yellow with lots of thick white head. Some grassy aromas with hints of espresso beans. Really taste the espresso throughout this brew but still know youre drinking a pils the whole time. Very interesting and nicely done

A well laced pillowy white head on a straw pilsner body. The nose features oats, coffee and pilsner malt. Another understated, well blended hit for the Wild Oats Series. Pilsner malt, roasted oats, citrus, melon and coffee work well together to create a refreshing but complex pilsner hybrid. A nice piece of craftsmanship.

600 ml bottle purchase at the brewery on November 10, 2016, part of Beaus Best of 2016 4 pac. Hazy gold, small head. The aroma is mostly coffee, notes of dry barley and pale malt. Dry green hoppy taste with a good kick of coffee, a bit sweet, nice light bitterness. A real WTF beer, but not bad!

2016 Holiday 4 pack. Clear yellow pour, with a large white head. Aroma is big on coffee, but not roasted coffee, but green coffee beans, with a soft capsaicin/pepper flavour without the heat. SOlid mouth feel, and good carb. Finish has alot of cereals in it, with minmal to no hop, and the same goes for bitterness. The coffee overpowers and hides the base beer, and i find doesnt not integrate well.

Pours hazy yellow gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is grain , malts and a background of coffee. Coffee, biscuit and sweet malts flavour. Interesting beer. I may need to try this again to fully understand it.

Bottle - 600ml. Hazy golden body with a thin, white foamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with flowery, honeyish, and herbal hints. Its malty/hoppy taste carries corny, flowery, and roasted coffee notes. Ends with a decent, unusual herbal/roasty finish. Not sure about this weird combination of flavors. However, it is not bad.
