... Bottle. Terrific bottle, actually. But... in the end, it just feels like it was somewhat unnecessary. Cereal crispness got lost in aggressive hopping (...relatively-speaking) and biscuit notes just got too faint to give a distinctive character to this one. Better than the Mr. Hyde, but I prefer the originals (LugTread and NightMarzen)
[5033-20121228] 600mL bottle. Light orange peel malt aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Toasted orange grains and boozy floral malt in the flavour. Medium-full body. Quite bold and one-dimensional but not bad. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1

2012-12-28 hazy dark yellow body with a large white head. 3+ mild aroma, lightly yeasty, pale malt And modest grainy notes. Flavour is similar, pale malt core with a modest grainy almost rye like undertone, hints at lemon in the hops, mildly bitter throughout. Lemon grows into the bottom half of the bottle. Average plus bodied palate, fairly effervescent. Simple, overly mild but quite quaffable. Bottle via trade with cfrancis, probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2012
600 ml bottle from the brewery, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. Bottle # 1709.LadySusan (766) - Ste-Therese, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 8, 2012
App.: Clear fairly deep amber with a nice white foam.
Aroma: Pungent, sweet, vaguely fruity malts, there is a smell that I can’t describe well...it is sort of floral/perfumed, quite sweet, intense; a little dusty, rustic, decent but enigmatic.
Palate: Medium body, relaxed effervescence.
Flav.: More of that assertive maltiness with the hard-to-describe note, a little peppery/pungent, a little fruity, fairly sweet, a touch rustic and dusty; off dry with fair bitterness and a kinda peppery rye bread crust finish.
Jekyll was multi-dimensional. Good choice for the name of the beer.
Cask at Vankleek hill.2011.The colr is a clear honey with a very thin beige head. The aroma is of malt some hops and fruits. The taste also of malt, cereal. fruits it has a bitter finish.Like Dr.Jekyll. HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - MAY 11, 2012
600ml ml bottle, awesome art. Pours orange/amber with an ample fluffy head. Aroma is not strong, mild candy sweet malts and a little bread. Clean taste with some earthy hops. Spring water makes the palate very smooth. Overall, this is a perfectly fine beer, but I was hoping for something more mind blowing from a limited edition with such a cool presentation. More of a six pack beer than a seasonal special.

Another good beer from Beau’s. This one smells simply malty. THe taste has a sour mash feel to it. Carbonation is good and consistent. with a lasting head. Good murky pour. There is citrus and a taste of honey I can detect on an empty stomach. Good, but the dark side (Mr. Hyde) is better. Bottle from the brewery. Peachy-amber colour with a subtle haze and a tight white head. Aroma is mostly about the malt - grain from the Lug-Tread & fruitiness from the Night-Märzen - with some dried leaves and cut grass coming in around the edges. Flavour also starts quite malty with bread and biscuit, but spicy hops quickly make themselves known, and linger through the finish along with notes of orange oil and pepper. A curious combination that works better than might be expected. cfrancis (3539) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 4, 2012
Pours a orange amber with a healthy frothy white top. Aroma is a little spicy, mostly malt and some german hop. Taste is a little bready with some spice from the Marzen. Overall it’s a little blegh, It’s drinkable but not very memorable. Marketing on the label is great. JoeMcPhee (9517) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 1, 2011
Bottle at Burger Bar. Amber pour with a tight white head. The aroma is lightly sweet but with a touch of soft fruity estery character. A little bit of dustiness as well as some grainy malts. There is something inherently dirty about the yeast profile that I just don’t enjoy either in this or in the Lugtread. Meh. Eructoblaster (4330) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 14, 2011
Bottle - 600ml. Light amber body with a thin white foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with grainy and herbal hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty and herbal notes. Ends with a decent bitter finish. Enjoyable.
