COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Patersbier is a Belgian-style ale. Expect a great drinkable beer, with traditional Belgian yeast character. Milder in alcohol than a dubbel or tripel, Patersbier (“Father’s beer”) was traditionally brewed by monks to enjoy within the walls of their abbey, while they worked away at brewing their famous strong ales.

June 20, 2016 - at Bar Hop (BrewCo) - on draught. "Homer: okay brain - you don't like me and I don't like you - but let's get this done" (I kid - I own the t-shirt of this beer - Beau's best graphics ever IMO) ... somewhat hazy with floaties pale yellow with a smallish white head. Mild aroma - not of much specific - kinda fruity/yeasty - taste ... like a five-to-one blend of a standard lager blended with a little Chimay White - grassy and ... ehh. Light, slick, quick-finishing ... whatever.

Bottled sample from MLCC...was surprised and please at the lower alcohol content in this one. Great Belgian ale

Super hazy golden and ultra coppered coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of light grass, hay, tons of malt and light grain along with some moderate alcohol flavours and some yeast residue along with a slightly bready finish to the smell and ending with that tiny bit of hops noticeable. Light to Medium-bodied; Dry, grassy and very yeastie flavour at first that goes down very nicely, yet leaves a great bit of complexity, just from the malt alone, coupled with some lighter hop elements, a tiny pinch of sugars and a bit more of the grassy/dry flavours make this pretty nice. Aftertaste shows more of the dry flavours with the grain and pungent bread notes finishing out the flavours and only a bit of sugar at the finish. Overall, a very nice 'single' with a good amount of flavour and complexity throughout, especially for the ABV! Nice to sample regardless, and especially if you like single's from non-Belgium/Canada! I sampled this tall, twenty ounce (Canada/Ontario only?) slender bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Columbus Circle), New York on 11-June-2017 for only US$3,99 sampled at home in Washington on 16-October-2017. Bottle Date: 22-March-2017 (Batch #6022) // Purchased: 11-June-2017 // Sampled: 16-October-2017

Pour out of 600 mL bottle, clear golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of grass, bread, biscuit, some earth, spice, touch of funky notes, light esters and pepper. Taste was a mix of bread, grass, pepper, slight white fruit into some yeast, spice, finishing slightly sweet, slightly dry.

On tap at BGH. Pours a clear light amber. Light malt on the nose. Light bodied with some light hops - weak and a bit sour. Ok.

Another one that I had higher hopes. The Belgian-style had me for stronger taste. Close, but missing something. An ok beer.

Draft: Poured a golden color ale with a medium foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of light residual sugar and fruity ester is enjoyable enough. Taste is a mix of Belgian malt notes with some residual sugar notes and some fruity ester. Body is about average with good carbonation. Easy drinking Belgian ale with maybe a tad too much residual sugar.

Bottle. Hazy gold in colour with slightly spritzy carbonation. Aromas are of meadow flowers, baguette crust, and honey. The floral and honey elements continue on the palate along with some mildly spicy Belgian yeast notes. A touch heavy on the mouthfeel, but pleasant enough overall.

Decent but kind of boring. Quaffable for sure. Pours golden with foamy white head. Belgian yeast aromas, floral, quite nice. Flavours are yeasty, floral, grains.
