Rated Oct. 2013. Pours a large frothy, brownish head and has a clean amber/copper appearance. Thick lacing. Huge bready and toasty malt aromas with a bit of resin hops. Sort of a wood/oak smokey flavour. Some toasty and nutty malts with notes of breads and mild herbal hops. Slight spicy undertones and even a bit of the barley coming through. Warming sensation and mild astringent and tingling mouthfeel. Full bodied. Pretty good and easy to drink. Goes down pretty smooth. remice2 (151) - Trois-Rivières, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 4, 2014
Bottle: Poured a clear deep amber color alt with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of caramelized sugar and oak is stronger than I was expecting. Taste is also a mix of caramelized sugar with some oak notes which brings out a dry edge to this beer. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. I am not sure the dry caramel malt notes, cereal notes and the oak notes were very well balanced together. Ontbeertaster (2362) - Ontario, CANADA - SEP 14, 2013
Bottle, from the LC, pours a nice amber, aroma is a hop, flavour is really nice and refreshing, a nice carmel bit of a punch, pretty tasty stuff. dandeman (1002) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 8, 2013
Aroma: Very malted nose, sugar cane, candy, burnt caramel, barley sugar. Good strength but fading rapidly.
Appearance: Dark copper, clear, average thickness creamy head, long lasting. Not a lot of lacing.
Taste: Attack is very malty, with notes of burnt caramel, Candi sugar with a hoppy and dry finish including notes of greenies and pepper. Perfect balance between malt and hop. Mouth feel shows a medium body and a thin delicate texture. Good flavor palette. very close to a barley wine except for body and bitterness. Pleasantly surprised. A delicious beer that will please both malt and hop fans.

pours dark golden with a nice light beige head, good retention and lacing. caramel, spices, molasses, bit of wood, dark red fruitiness, grassy-peppery, hint of sweetness. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, short but sharp grassy-oaky and slightly earthy finish. oaked alt it is - enjoyed it! more like a maple red orange with carbination and some head. Fruity hoppy smell with a juicy malty smell some warmth and some of the oak barrel a bit. Heavy bodied taste the way t smells with maybe a little chocolate and some earthy bitterness that the more I drink some sips really show with some sweetness a bit. Can tell its a heavier and stronger beer in the taste or something no burn or water. Good but NOT great. Filling beer pushkinwow (2827) - Ottawa, CANADA - AUG 4, 2013
Bomber from the LCBO. Dark amber with biege head. Smoke, some stone fruits, sweet malts. Low carbonation and moderate body, somewhat sweet, bit of oak. DuffMan (10452) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 27, 2013
Bottle, brought to Montreal from Kingston by Robbie-- thanks buddy! Dark brown pour leaning more toward orange highlights than amber. Sweet caramel aroma, some vanilla too. Rich caramel malt with fruity accents, ripe peach maybe, light vanilla, finishing with sharp hoppy bitterness that initially was a bit metallic for me but eventually smoothed out. Quite good, but not one I’d drink all night.
