Dark orange-red with thick tan, almost orange head, that is quickly reduced to about half a finger with heavy lacing. Aroma of mainly toasted caramel with some herbal and citrus hops and spice.Body is medium with above average, but not overbearing carbonation. Taste is like the aroma. Sweet and toasty at first with a long, dry bitter hop finish. Overall, a very tasty, refreshing beer. Canmoore (483) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2013
Pours a deep brown, with a tan head. The aroma is of grahm crackers, toasty malts. The tasting notes include chocolate, sweet honey, light fruits, and a nearly puckering dry bitter finish. This is a wonderful beer, and very easy drinking. VT (2527) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 23, 2013
600 ml bottle. Pours a clear orange-copper amber with a nice white head. Aroma is earth, herbs, wood. Flavor is sweet, caramel, earth, copper, oak, toast, wheat bread, but especially, VANILLA. Finish is sand and earth, wood, herbal and spicy hops. Lingering wood, spices, vanilla. Medium body, weak to average carbonation, soft mouthfeel. A man’s beer, but worthy of being a celebration ale. On tap at the Golden Kiwi. Pours a nice muddy brown with orange and reddish highlights. Medium white head. Aroma is full of rich darker malt characters and subtle herbal hops. Flavour is even better. Really nice thicker feel on the palate. Rich and nutty malts met with a very dry finish, slightly spicy, nice yeast character. Almost bock-like. Long-lingering dry bitterness. Feels strong in a satisfying kind of way. Really nice one from an apparently controversial brewery. I at least appreciate that they try different things for this bland province.

Nice ! Another Wild Oats (revisited) single bottle at the LCBO. Pours a rich deep amber colour with a frothy-foamy, yellow-beige head, with great retention and bubbly lace. Mild fruity malt aromas with a little toastiness and hints of other dark fruits. The hop comes out in the taste, very well-balancing things with the malt (fruitiness) and the nice bitterness. Real glad they re-released this one, as it is quite good, goes down real nicely and has great character that do not offend. thorongil2 (3073) - , Ontario, CANADA - AUG 30, 2013
(bottle) clear reddish brown colour with a medium tall tan head; aromas of stewed fruit, bit of metal to start, hint of smoke; creamy palate; rich flavour, well balanced, long medium bitter finish - quite nice barncatmatt (2286) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 9, 2010
on tap at the golden kiwi, cambridge ON. slightly hazed deep amber with a minimal head but good lacing. restrained carbonation. the aroma was quite hop forward but decently backed by the malt stucture. i didnt get any wood in the nose but some did come out in the flavour. pretty balanced overall but soemwhat lacking for a 7% abv brew. the abv was really well hidden and i could have sessioned this beer had circumstances allowed for it. a nice effort by beaus with way more positives then negatives. Cool basement pour on hottest day so far of 2013. Pours dark with thick milkshake cap. Rich & rewarding. dandeman (996) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 8, 2013
Aroma: Very malted nose, sugar cane, candy, burnt caramel, barley sugar. Good strength but fading rapidly.
Appearance: Dark copper, clear, average thickness creamy head, long lasting. Not a lot of lacing.
Taste: Attack is very malty, with notes of burnt caramel, Candi sugar with a hoppy and dry finish including notes of greenies and pepper. Perfect balance between malt and hop. Mouth feel shows a medium body and a thin delicate texture. Good flavor palette. very close to a barley wine except for body and bitterness. Pleasantly surprised. A delicious beer that will please both malt and hop fans.
