Jug @ home: The iron arse came in a jug of 1.89L and is rated at 4.6%, not 4.8% as indicated. Bitter while very light bodied. Has has very subtle notes of berries, citrus and herbs. Light roasted flavor. Bitterness and hops flavor are almost not present. Light carbonation. All around was a nice beer that could have use higher IBU in my opinion. Limited edition that will be miss nonetheless.

Nice beer! Aroma of light malt. Some fruit background, almost like pineapple. Bitter finish is nice, and not too harsh. Great session beer, you could drink for hours and not complain!

Diogène (1208) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 2, 2011
Sampled at Beau’s 5th anniversary party. Clear copper with a thin white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is grainy and fruity with herbal notes. Flavor is pale malt, cereals, fruity notes, british hops, some toasted malt and a very moderately bitter finish. Well made but not overly complex. Medium body with a slightly creamy mouthfeel.

probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 29, 2011
Sample at Arrow & Loon cask festival. 26JN11.

App.: Hazy deep golden with no head. Aroma: Very grainy, grassy, floral, cooked peas, perfumed, oddly sweet, interesting and a little weird. Palate: Medium body, still. Flav.: Peppery, leafy, floral, grassy, grainy, a little dusty/musty, odd; dry with decent bitterness and a pleasant biscuit/citrus finish.

Odd, weird, interesting. I’m a boob man, not an arse man.
