COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beau’s flagship offering is Lug Tread Lagered Ale, named after the tire treads of a small tractor, a true symbol of Eastern Ontario. Golden-hued, crisp and finely balanced, Lug Tread is a tribute to “Kölsch” the classic beer of Cologne, Germany. Lug Tread is top fermented (like an ale) and then cold aged, or “lagered”, for a lengthy period. This gives it some light ale notes, complemented by a lager-like crispness.

Hazy, golden. The aroma has some herbal continental hop, mellow pale malt. Has a dryish character with the same pale malt, a lighter hop and a touch of grainy sourness. It’s that sour grainy stuff that sorts of drags this beer down in the finish.

600ml bottle. Pours a clear golden colour with a half-finger of white soapy head. Nose of caramel malts, bready, stonefruit. Crisp, malt and slightly sweet. Smooth, clean, crisp. The first Beau’s offering I’ve ever seen on sale in NS; may it be the first of many.

660ml bottle. Pours a clear medium gold, with a medium white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. The aroma has light herb and stone fruit hops, with white bread and caramel malt. Light fruit hops up front give way to a medium bodied mix of grainy and caramel malt, with a fairly short finish. Very sessionable, although not the most interesting beer out there.

On tap at Moon Under Water, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp crackery malt and light cereal sweetness. Flavour is crisp and refreshing, with crackery malt and lightly sweet cereal notes. Not much to describe, as it’s a kolsch. Decent for what it is.

Aromatherapy is citrus, tart, caramel. Taste is light sweet malts, caramel, dark malts, and light hops. Appearance is a clear gold with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Draft. Clear gold with medium carbonation. Aromas are of grainy malts and a bit of honey. Flavors of sweetish cereal grains, wet stones, and very mild fruit. Light bodied. Has both Helles and Kolsch characteristics. Simplistic, but decent for what it is.

Bottle. Crystal clear pale yellow pour with a decent white head. Aroma is grainy, corn notes and a bit of toast. Taste is much the same, cereal, slight corn. Nice thing here is that it's not overly carbonated and not too sweet - very drinkable.

Re-rated as my local has this on tap. Pale golden pour, monstrous puffy white head. Grassy aroma, grains, pear, lighter bread and citrus notes. Grass and lemon up front, green apple, bread dough, caramel sweetness. Lighter to medium body, fairly crisp finish.

Had on tap and bottle many times. Poured a thick bubbly head. Has a pale yellowish colour. Has wheats and grains in aroma, hints of apple, pear. Grainy flavours mixed with a good balance of malts and hops. Has a lemony citrus tang as well. Tingly mouthfeel, medium bodied and retention, good lacing. Also has a faint banana like flavourful mouthfeel. Good stuff and organic! :)

Pours clear light gold with big white head. Looks like cider almost. Aroma is of bread, honey, caramel, and herbs. Tastes of bread, honey, light caramel, and earthy spices. Has a great refreshing palate. It is extremely smooth and drinkable yet so flavourful too. I don’t see how it is rated so low.
