1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2012 600 ml bottle. Somewhat disappointing and overpriced. Bland taste, pale colour like Corona, slightly reminiscent of a Molson Canadian-type taste (it’s been ages since I’ve drunk macro-brews). Lug Tread is definitely drinkable, but a little lame for this price range and micro-brewery standards. Maybe I’m not a big fan of this style. But at this price point, I felt compelled to rate it.
I have to say that the second one (on the next day) tastes better than the first. Hmmm.... Maybe there’s a reason they sell these in four-packs.

Too sweet for me. Odd that it is an ale- no? Too light. Colour is fine, (light golden colour) low aromas, again- sweet on the palate. A bit thin. If you like Bud you may like this one.

Not sure how this qualifies for an ale, let alone a lager (which everyone refers to it as). Light for a lager, even more so for an ale. Way to sweet as well. Beer should be bitter. Reminds me of the big macro breweries.

Tap at YOW but had many times before. Clear honey pour with minimal white head. Aroma is honey lager slight hoppy crisp. Taste is super crisp at first but opens to malty sweetness. Palate is slightly heavier than expected but good. Straightforward rich but crisp lager. More interesting and pronounced than basic lagers but not that much.

Its good. Real good. Almost too good. What do these small town brewers put in this stuff that makes you crave it fortnightly? Watch your back Steamwhistle in Toronto, Vankleek coming at ya!!

600-ml bottle pours crystal-clear yellow with a small soapy head. Minimal lacing. Aroma: lemon, hay, yeast, flowers. Flavor: all the above. A decent lawnmower beer or a transitional beer for a light-beer drinker.

A little too plain for my liking for a craft beer - almost seems like the Coors of crafts, light drinking but lacking on the flavor you typically expect from Beau’s

Keg at Sir John A., Ottawa. Clear deep golden, small head. Fruity grassy nose. Mid dry with light-medium body and dense, well rounded mouthfeel. Firm malt, on the fruity/bready side. Mild spicy hops. Lightly minerally with mid bitter finish. Unassuming and charming, with the drinkability that befits a kölsch. One of the best examples outside Cologne. One of the best keg versions.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear light yellow with a foamy white head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of light citrus with hints of caramel malt. It has a nice bitterness to it and very crisp. It is quite smooth compared to other lighter beers.

Jaune un brin doré, un tantinet voilé. Petit col discret.
