Wild Oats Series No. 15 A tribute to the Roggenbiers of Germany, but done with with a North American twist. Deep copper in colour, Mr. Hyde is a rye beer that has been hopped aggressively in the American vein. However, it utilizes German hops to provide bitterness, flavour and aroma, while the rye malt provides an additional spiciness.

Bottle drank in a Orval chalice. Pours copper with just a hinge of haziness and a rather thick off white head. Aroma is pretty much weak malts with a hint of roast and spices. Taste is mainly floral/resin hops with some annoying traces of leather and raw grain. Finale is bitter in a rather cloying way. Canít really explain it. This is not a success.

Bottle Clear copper with growing foamy head. Light yeasty aroma. Taste is pepper, toffee, light fruit, bitter finish. Not bad!

Bottle, dark pour, strong taste, a bit harsh flavour, some graininess. some grass and earthy notes, a bit of raisins in there, overall not bad.

(bottle) clear amber colour with a medium tall tan head; aromas of stewed fruit, biscuit; slightly creamy palate; smooth flavour with a long medium bitter finish

600ml bottle c/o G - thank you, G!!! (no, itís not God. well, maybe it is - but I have no proof). Clear bright amber with a huge fluffy tan lasting head. Very acidic grain and herbally bitter aroma, a little fruity and nutty. Taste is more acidic and nutty, weird dry bitterness in the finish, like lemon, battery acid and nutshell - but I like it. Light body, massive astringency, solid carbonation and a long dry acidic palate-coating bitter finish - odd, pungent, good.

Dark red & carbonated. Big head.(Lotís left fast, some left lacing and some staded a while). Smell is malt, rye bread, pepper, & some sweetness. This is a s it back, take yer time with and enjoy all thatís going on. Taste: Rye bread, barley, pepper, ect. Lotís seem to be going on with this one. It is good stuff. Enjoy!!!

600ml bottle from the LCBO. Nice spicy, hoppy, yeast nose. Good grassy notes with some subtle spicing from the rye. There is a good amount of cereal malts, some nice grain aromas. Medium bitter finish with more subtle spice, and some great grassy hops. The bitterness really leans towards american hopping, but it really goes well with the rye. nice stuff.

Spicy grass nose, berry. Clear red/orange, with a big burned butter foamy head. Up front it is quite bitter, and medicinal hops on top of biscuit and really earthy malts. Peppery, dry finish. Hides the alcohol extremely well. Interesting.

Boutip (6321) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 23, 2013
Bottle: Poured a copper color ale with a large dirty beige head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry grainy malt notes is more or less pleasant. Taste is also dominated by unrefined grainy notes with some dry bitter hops notes also discernible. Body is about average with good carbonation. Spicy rye notes were not as dominant as I would have expected and some unrefined grain notes were not the flavours I was looking forward to.

VT (2527) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 20, 2013
Pours a deep amber with a nice white head. Aroma is mostly caramel and spices. Flavor is caramel, spices, toasty cereal, roasted malt. Good herbal and floral hops finish. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, average carbonation. Alright.
