Wild Oats No. 24 What else do you call a Maibock when it’s brewed for Oktoberfest? Pours a bright orange gold colour with notes of biscuit, candy sweetness, peppery alcohol and spicy hop bitterness.

Bottle, Oktoberfest 2012 mix pack, thanks Kristi! Pours golden dark yellow, nice bubbly white head. Looks great . Grassy, yeasty, lemon aroma, some alcohol. Taste - pretty interesting! Strong alcohol , lots of lemon. Like a strong lemony golden ale. Lively mouthfeel . Rather bitter as well up front. Good! This whole pack has been terrific!

bottle c/o "G" - yay G! Amber-tinged clear gold with a huge fluffy off-white lasting head. Floral and herbal slightly fruity malt aroma, not too sweet - bready. Taste - even more herbal, sharp green sour fruit character, alcohol emerges- spicy and I quite like it. light body, acidic/astringent, nice carbonation. Hoppier than most "bock" beers, which is a good thing, for me.

Bottle. Copper-gold with a very faint haze and a good sized white head. Aroma has a nice barley candy character - not as prominent as from a barley wine, but still noticeable - along with a balancing grassiness and a bit of orange oil. Flavour follows with sweet caramelized barley and candied orange up front, moving quickly into herbal dryness and a lingering bitter finish with orange rind and a slight boozy warmth. This bottle is more than a year old, but it’s held up well, and from what I can remember it doesn’t seem a lot different from the much fresher bottle I had last year. Very enjoyable.

Also enjoyed this bottle with Chopz at AC’s Saloon. :) Pours a pretty generous amount of foamy off white head, and has a pale golden appearance with lots of dirty lacing. Has a grassy scent along with some malts and madarins. Quite malty creamy flavouful mouthfeel. Kind of an orangey aftertaste. Very mild citrus flavours that do not exactly stand out. Some slight bitterness on the palate. Still pretty good.

2012-10-08. Crisp dark golden orange body with a nice creamy off-white to beige head. 3+ Sweet pale malt flavour, finishes fairly dry, lightly bitter and mildly alcoholic. Malty aroma of pale malt, lightly "spice malt quality to it. Average plus palate, suitable carbonation 3+ Pretty decent example of the style, but it is not a style I am overly fond of. On tap at Brewmarket, Brick Works, Toronto

Hazel color and clear, with a light head. Notes of candy, spice, toasted malt and sweet cereal. Sweet on the palate with some spice, light to medium bodied with a bit too much lingering sweetness and cereal flavor. A decent Octoberfest brew but not as well balanced as most of Beaus other offerings. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours sunburst orange with a lush one finger cap. Aroma goes to the bakery: biscuit flour, candy & cake dough. Tasty & refreshing. An interesting take on the style & unlike some other Ontario breweries they prove once again that they don’t drop the ball covering the German styles.

Bouteille 600 ml. 7%. Couleur ambrée, mousse beige pâle. Arôme de grains frais, alcool et touche de houblon. En bouche, douce, malt, un peu de caramel, poivre rose, alcool et houblon. Descend bien. Très bonne beer !

600 ml bottle from the brewery via Lubiere (merci!), served cool in a tulip glass. 30NO12.

App.: Very deep golden with a large bright white foam. Aroma: Sweet, lightly fruity, some Noble hop character, toasty malts, a touch of Beau’s house aroma. Palate: Medium body and moderate effervescence. Flav.: Fairly robust maltiness, a good hit of Noble hop character – spicy, peppery, green, herbaceous, faintly fruity, a touch...tangy?; dry with pretty good (surprising) bitterness and a nice toast and Noble hop finish.

Not quite 8 thumbs up.

Pours dark golden with a light head that leaves a cover and medium lacing. Nose is yeast with a grassy hint. Notes of pepper, lemon, biscuit, yeast. Tastes are light sweet, and quite a lot of bitterness to the finish. Very harsh finish, and alcohol is quite present. Medium body with aggressive carbonation.
