Cask at Beaus Oktoberfest 2013, Vankleek Hill. Pours a very dark amber-brown with a spare bubbly white head. Slightly mild aroma of caramel malt and dark fruit. Flavour of caramel malt, dark fruit, some sugary sweetness, light hops and a moderate bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Really good. jercraigs (10858) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 11, 2013
2013-10-05. Lightly hazy dark brown body is essentially headless. 3+ Aroma has a moderate malt character. Flavour is malty with a moderate but omnipresent alcoholic undercurrent. Lightly fruity, earthy touches in the finish and moderate bitterness. Average plus bodied palate, no carbonation. Decent, I enjoyed this but I suspect it would fare better on tap, or at least with more carbonation. On cask at Beaus Oktoberfest, Vankleek Hill pushkinwow (2895) - Ottawa, CANADA - OCT 8, 2013
Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2013. Ruby brown with an off white head. Very smooth, sweet with lots of plum, some raisin, somewhat earthy, hints of chocolate and anise with a liquor finish. Almost flat, moderate+ body, sweet with a warming alcohol bite, very tasty.
