An unfiltered wheat beer brewed with sea salt and coriander. Opa’s Gose is a tart beer with mild citrusy notes and a unique salty character. The saltiness of the style is diffused and complemented by a coriander spice addition.

Pours a frothy white cap and has a light golden appearance. Somewhat weak lacing. Aromas of grassy and citrusy hops as well as grainy malts. Definitely getting the salty like flavours but mostly in the finish. Some mild flavours of grains, toasty malts and a bit of coriander. Puckering and astringent mouthfeel. Quite excessive carbonation. Medium bodied. Actually pretty good, smooth and easy drinking beer. Tried another glass with a dash of the extra sea salt and let it sit for a few minutes. After trying, I think there was enough as it was. :p

Bottle. Hazy yellow-orange body with a small white head. Aroma of slightly soapy coriander, light citrus zest, a hint of salt. Medium-light bodied with nice carbonation and a slightly creaminess on the palate. Flavour is pleasant, with a nice balance of tart lemon and herbal coriander, with salt and yeast coming through in the finish. Not too bad, especially considering its been sitting in my cellar for a year or so.

Sent les pommes et les poires. Blond trouble, mousse dense. Texture semblable à la goose, rondeur associé au sel. Outre la texture, rappel plutôt une saison sans la sècheresse. Les arômes s’effacent rapidement, le goût tombe soudainement.

Cloudy yellow pour with average white head. Nose is lightly funky with lemon and wheat. There’s also something vaguely herbal about it. A fair letdown on the palate. Light citrus notes and lots of wheat. Comes off watery with just a hint of funkiness. Just a hint of salt (without adding from the bag around the neck). Decent but largely forgettable.

Had this a year ago when they originally made it, it was great! This version for the masses is not true to the Gose style, kinda didn't taste like anything... Touch if coriander. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Blonde doré. Légère. Très rafraichissante. "Blanche". Légèrement saline mais subtile. Banane. Frais. Coriandre. Très bien. Simple.

bottle. Poured hazy straw coloured with a thin white head. Citrusy herbal aroma. Light dry mouthfeel with a tart finish. Grainy wheat flavour, sour citrus and vegetal notes.

My Bottom Line:
Bulky wheat and coriander whip up a nice light dessert of a brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam decorates the cloudy blond.
-Salt and acidity are quite timid for the style. This could definitely be more refreshing than it is...
-The soft effervescence could be higher to increase the refreshment factor.
-The body is not rich, but it certainly is richer than the typical Gose.
-Mild banana esters are also perceived.

Pours light golden with an initial foamy head that ends up leaving a white ring, barely any lacing. Nose is quiet, some light orange zest maybe. Notes of orange, some cereal, some lemon, light salt. Taste is light salt, light sweet and barely any bitter. Light body with lively carbonation.

Bottle: Poured a pale yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light wheat malt notes with some light coriander is a bit blander than I was expecting. Taste is a mix between some light coriander notes with some light wheat malt with subtle unrefined grainy finish. I didn’t add the salt bag but not sure it would have improved things greatly. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but definitely a notch below some of the German example I tried before.
