tap at Oktoberfest 2011. dark brown colour with a small light beige head. aroma is citrus hops and malts. taste is a bit peppery with a nice amount of grapefruit from the hops. medium body. not a bad beer, but the Rye profile isnít what iíd have liked it to be. it was barely there.

My Bottom Line :
Spicy rye and yeast phenolics scent this Roggenbierís polished barley malts, yielding a highy drinkable pint.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam tops the misty amber.
-The finish is a beautiful combination of earthy hops and rye spiciness.
-Caramel also plays a part in this beer, though discreetly.
-Yeast and rye characters were ably balanced.

tap oktoberfest 2011 - notes. light brown with a decent light beige head, some retention. light strawberry-hops, pine and citrus, medium roasted malts, some sweet malts and other cereals. average carbonation, medium body, nice herbal-citrusy finish.

Cask at Cíest What. Deep ruddy amber pour. The aroma is quite light with a sort of woody hoppiness. Actually quite hoppy with a little bit of a spiciness underlying it. Nothing at all like I was expecting. Medium bodied and hoppy with just a touch of fruitiness as well. Itís more of an APA than a roggenbier - but maybe thatís what they were going for. Moderate hop aroma though the bitterness is significant. Strange.
