600ml bottle pours a dark amber brown color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is chocolate and coffee with some herbal notes. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a herbal and coffee bitterness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a little thin for the style, and flavours seem a little off as well.

Appearance: clear brown with two fingers of rocky beige head, good retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: lactose, toasty malt, coffee and chocolate, light earth. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter. (6/10) Medium body, moderate-soft carbonation, sweetish mildly bitter finish. (3/5) My reaction to this beer is not unlike my reaction to its namesake: meh. This isnt interesting at all - its got a little sweet lactose character, and some mild coffee and chocolate, but the body tends thin for the style, and everything falls flat fairly quickly. OK, but uninspired. (12/20)

Pours a dark brown. There is no sweetness in here. Drinks far more like a brown ale than a sweet stout. Some roasty and coffee notes. Thats it. Not that great.

Draught at the brewery. Pours an opaque black, with a large tan head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. The aroma offers fresh milk, milk chocolate and mild coffee. Very mild herbal hops give way to smooth milk chocolate and milk in the mid-palate, which persist into a smooth finish. A nice, smooth stout, maybe a little sweeter than I usually enjoy, but pleasant nonetheless.

Dark brown with some tan head. Has a nice creamy mouthfeel. Not too sweet. Some roasted cocoa notes

Dark brown body, brown head, pours a little transparent and thin. Off-white head, some lacing, not a long retention. Creamy lactose and roast cocoa aroma, bread, sweet biscuit, vanilla, but all pretty subtle. Taste is sweet coca, some lactose, some acidity, a touch of dry roast. Over all, decent.

Bottle. Dark brown pour, mostly clear, with a small tan head - quite light in colour for a stout. Aroma is a little sweet and a little roasty, fairly light, subtle caramel and coffee, not a lot going on. Taste is light, a little sweet, pretty simple with a bit of roasty bitterness in the finish. Calling this a milk stout is definitely over-promising - this is a pretty weak stout with a bit of bitterness and without the richness and creaminess that a milk stout would normally have.

Aroma is caramel, toffee, oats, cereal and molasses. Taste is dark sweet malts, brown sugar and caramel. The flavors are balanced however it disappeared a bit quicker than desired.Appearance is a dark amber with a frothy beige head that retains pretty well. The body is too light to be stout however . More of a porter.

Bottle from LCBO. Bottled a couple months ago. Pours brown with small but well-retaining light tan head. The aroma is pleasant, roasted malts and coffee with a sweet edge that is neither milky nor sugary. A bit syrupy perhaps, and burnt caramel. Tastes sweetish with black rye bread crust sourishness, a bit of earthy dry bitterness in the finish. Moderate carbonation and medium body. Pretty nice, I quite like it.
