Wild Oats Series No. 13 Orange hued with a tall creamy head, Weiss O’ Lantern is a white beer brewed with pumpkin. Pumpkin citrus fruit and spice flavours shine through it’s full, wheat body. The finish is lively, zippy and darn refreshing.

On tap at Le Projet. Cloudy golden in the glass with a thin-ish white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of fruity and different from your usual pumpkin beer. More focused on the fruits side than the spices, there is still a bit of pepper and spices but none of that nutmeg you have in nearly 100% of all pumpkin beers. Taste is of pumpkin and lightly tart, offers some whteat and the weisse character is preserved. I didn’t expect much and I can say I’m enjoying this way more than I thought I would. Body is medium and carbonation high and prickly. It never feels heavy or cloying, I believe I could have downed another glass without a problem. Nice one Beau’s, nice one.

Smells just like an ale, nothing pumpkin or wheat beer. Light golden orange with 2 finger head and massive amount of carbination constintly rushing up. Taste like a wet ale that is juicy(from the pumpkin puree.) As the wet body starts drying out the juicy taste stay’s and then near the end there is an orage soda taste from the orange peel some and maybe a bit of ginger and cinnamon. Not the best pumpkin beer & far from the worst. Cheer’s!!!

Nice orange hued golden pour, clear. Aroma has good amount of pumpkin. Flavour is wheaty, not too much pumpkin but enough, definitely tasting the orange. It has some spiciness but the orange helps to offset it, it is a well balanced beer. Medium bodied, good carbonation. Really nice non-gimmicky pumpkin brew.

A murky, yet somehow watery looking pour. Active white head, albeit one that quickly dissipates into nothingness. The nose has some banana esters, and a lot of pepper. Not really any pumpkin. Not even pumpkin-related baking spices. Mouth feel is thin and watery.. More of what was on the nose, hitting my tongue. This really tastes more like a Saison than either a Pumpkin Ale or a Wheat beer, so the name is misleading. This reminds me of a weak version of GLB’s Tank Ten Saison DuPump, but they accurately advertised it as a Saison meets their Pumpkin ale. I wouldn’t re-buy this individually. Two beers in and the Oktoberfest box is really disappointing me.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a frothy and lacey white head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet malts, light brown sugar and some wheat. Taste is zesty wheat malts, light citrus, balancing vegetal pumpkin flavor that’s real tasting as opposed to sweet extract. Great pumpkin wheat beer with a nice dry crisp finish!

Purchased as part of Beau’s Oktoberfest Mix Pack. Smelled like a wheat beer with spices and just a hint of pumpkin. Poured a dark amber gold colour. Taste was of a mild wheat beer with a little bit of spices to it. The pumpkin taste was not apparent. Perfect amount of carbonation. Head all the way to the bottom of the glass. Smooth on the tongue with little aftertaste. Overall I was very impressed with this brew. I was expecting the beer to be ruined by the pumpkin taste when in fact it was not noticeable. Great seasonal brew that I will be purchasing again. MB

Bottle: Poured a clear bright orangey color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of cinnamon and light cloves is well balanced with the wheat malt notes. Taste is a well balance mix between some cinnamon, light clovers, sweet wheat malt notes and light pumpkin notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Easy drinking with just enough complexity.
