Sampler, from 2001 notes. Yes, very hoppy, with the requisite American northwestern hop note. Still manages to finish with a good aftertaste.
I went to my first brewery & restaurant this year on vacation with my family in Flagstaff, AZ - Beaver Street Brewery. We went for an early dinner -- I was excited and anticipation had definitely built up. To be honest, I was disappointed. The waitress was experienced, efficient, professional but really rushed us through and did not seem interested at all in working with me to recommend and try Beaver Street beers. I had their Hopshot IPA which the waitress explained was a combination of their IPA and Red Ales. I wasn’t impressed and she had rushed to convince me to order one of the larger sizes because it was on special. I wish I had taken the time to study the menu and get a flight of tasters. Not a great experience. A few days later, had a much better experience at their sister Lumberyard Brewery -- check out my review of Lumberyard Flagstaff IPA. slowrunner77 (12455) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUL 22, 2015
HopShot IPA - pleasant enough but thoroughly average. Balanced is not what I want in an IPA, or just a bitter aftertaste. Showcase the hops!! coyforce (684) - California, USA - JUN 21, 2015
Smooth and refreshing. Beautiful pour with a thick off white head. Aroma is hoppy and sweet. Parket (586) - Bruges, BELGIUM - MAY 31, 2013

Gold pour, white head. Citrus/pine hops in the nose and follows suit in the flavor. Not overly bitte, juicy hops, light caramel. Not bad. rocbyter (2134) - Waterbury, Connecticut, USA - JUN 4, 2011
Moderate pine and citrus hop aroma. Clear orange color with a medium white head. Strong bitter flavor throughout with a crisp palate. bierslaaf (105) - Somerset West, SOUTH AFRICA - MAY 17, 2011
In flight at brewpub followed by a 10oz. Copper pour with a lasting off white head. Big citrus & resin aroma with some malty sweetness. Medium body and carbonation. Good sweet bitter balance in the taste with a really bitter finish. SuperDave (1932) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - JAN 8, 2011
Clear gold pour with small head. Aroma of sweet malt and piney and spicy hops. Flavor is sweetness balanced by a nice amount of hop bitterness. Good.
