8 Ball - Big, Bold & Ballsy
One of our earliest recipes, we wanted to push this big IPA all the way. So we packed it full of Rye and dry hopped it for days with American hops, using old pool balls to weigh the hop sack down in the beer. Hence the name.

Go ahead and sink a few, be rude not to really.

From tap, half-pint, drunk in a cosy atmosphere at the splendid Craft Beer Co, Islington. Dark apricot coloured body. Spotty lacing to the glassware. Prominent aroma of citrus shells. Succulent taste character offering a mix of fresh and dried fruits added by lighter notes of spices. Lingering bitter ending. Well balanced. Brit IPA at its best (London, 26.11.2012).

Deliciosa.

MBR. Misty orange golden. Thick offwhite head. Citric, light peachy, herbal, bit malty. Light and fresh aroma. Light taste, slightly earthy malty, bit herbal and citric. Soft, sweetish and balanced. A very clean, quite drinkable rye IPA. Quite nice.

Huge, dense cream head over orange-copper, clear beer. Very fresh-smelling, herbal & citrussy hops; also felt and a touch both catty and peppery. Citrussy, and especially resiny hops, with caramel behind. Resin mounts in importance in the finish, and into the aftertaste. Slick, creamy, suave MF, no doubt thanks to the rye. Despite the huge and stable head, feels just a tad undercarbonated. Little bit of astringency due to the resin. Quite good IPA, no discussion! Many thanks to J & T!

Pours dark copper with a small amount of fluffy white head. Aroma of mint, watermelon and strawberry. Resinous flavour. Not as fruity as you tend to expect from an IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from Raynvile store, Leeds. Lovey aroma of the hops, pours dark amber - looks the part. Tastes bold and hoppy, very distinctive and another impressive offering from this brewery.
