8 Ball - Big, Bold & Ballsy
One of our earliest recipes, we wanted to push this big IPA all the way. So we packed it full of Rye and dry hopped it for days with American hops, using old pool balls to weigh the hop sack down in the beer. Hence the name.

Go ahead and sink a few, be rude not to really.

330ml Can. Poured nicely, very hazy orange/amber good, tight, foamy head. Aroma took its time arriving but was kinda pineapple/fruity hoppy, couldn't distinguish the rye. Big burly taste though definitely got the American IPA style but with a kind of added roundness which I suppose is the rye? Damn good beer will definitely buy again and will investigate other rye IPAs.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Moderate hoppy aroma with tropical fruits. Taste is pleasantly crisp and somewhat malty. Bitter but mostly balanced after.

The aroma is full of rye, caramel malt, slight citrus presence and yeast. The color is murky and caramellike. The taste is full of rye, barley malt, caramel malt, slight citrus, yeast, wheat, oats and corn. Not that impressive.

Can. Aroma is lots and lots of hops - pine, pineapple, resin. Also some spicy rye notes. Very assertive aroma, while the flavour is strangely subdued. Light oily but without the necessary flavour intensity.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2018 Can from Hartleys in Goring. Hazy brown with a foamy off-white head. Light citrus aroma with pine. Bitter, grassy pine with caramel notes.

Backlog - Pours a hazy amber with a lasting bubbly head. Aroma is warm and fruity. Tastes great, an approachable, fruity American west coast IPA. The rye isn't as forward as you'd think given the name, but it's still pronounced, and great.

From tap at the Local Pub, Athens. Clear dark golden color with off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, caramel, bread, grass, pine. Sweet and light taste bitter. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

330ml can into shaker. Murky orange/brown beer with towering cap of dense white foam. Some carbonation visible through the brown gloom. Aromas of citrus, brown bread, and pepper. Patchy lacing. Taste is mildly bitter with some interesting sweet notes. Finish is subdued, long and dry. Really easy-drinking at 6.2%

Has a good malt and citrus mix with apricot hints on the nose. Good head and a modest foggy brown body. Flavour is reliable graham cracker with a citrus finish. Crisp and easy drinking. It's a decent IPA, no hint of rye or so it seems.

Can bought at the brewery. Nice fruity, citrus, quite slick, hoppy, but not overwhelming. Elegant.
