Hazy amber beer, tidy white head. Smooth palate, mild fine carbonation. Minerals. Slightly crispy trailing edge. Barely there - creamy malt. Nice fruity hops - lime and a touch of orange. Lesser notes of pine and tangerine. Semi dry finish with a trace of lemon coming through. Good stuff!
Bottle from beermerchants.com. A hazy amber/golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, tropical fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, malty, grapefruit, slight bitterness. Reminded me of Kernel. Very drinkable indeed and at a sessionable strength too. Leighton (22773) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 4, 2012
Bottle at home in London. Pours lightly hazy gold with a moderate, white foam head. Lots of dry, pithy grapefruit in the nose, some stones. Light to medium sweet flavor, some lightly dirty pale malts, bit of dry hay, more dry citrus like orange and grapefruit. Light to medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Very dry to finish, clean, oodles of pithy citrus, mostly grapefruit, some tangerine, a bit of pale malt sweetness. There’s some yeast in here that adds a bit of cleansing dryness, a la Kernel. Great beer overall. Super drinkable and nicely layered. DruncanVeasey (8401) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2012
330ml. Finely misted copper in this light under a slick white foam. Attractively hop-forward, gently wafting aroma of Fruit Salad chews, pineapple and various berries. Full and slick with soapy, perfumed hop suggesting lavender and tropical fruits Good nutty linger bringing some malt balance to the table, but not too much. Bottle at home. Part of Beavertown’s Alpha Series of experimental ales. The pour’s deep hazy orange with a large, frothy white head. The nose is orange peel, cheddar cheese, hints of mango and grassy hops. The taste is medium bitter grapefruit, skunky hop and citrus. Kernel-esque yeasty cheesy funkiness. Mild mineral on the slightly dry, biter finish. Smooth. Overall, quite nice. A good, somewhat boisterous APA.
