The aroma is interesting combining gingerbread, chocolate, spices and a faint hint of vanilla. The beer is full bodied and has a sweetness that dries out towards the finish. The flavor has notes of dried figs, spicy mango with an undertone of tobacco from the cascabel chillies, dark chocolate, and vanilla.

Taste is all tonka goodness, cacao, caramel, heavy cacao beans, mocha, spices, crazy thick, chilli is very low nice, chocolate. Very thick, low umami in the taste. Keg at Peakender, Bakewell. A deep brown to black colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, some ginger cake, slight chilli, a little tobacco and subtle roasted malts. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malts, some chilli, slight ginger cake, a little leather, a hint of liquorice and subtle tobacco. Full bodied and moderate carbonation. A spicy then, cakey chocolate bitterness in the finish. For its strength, it’s actually quite tame. However the chilli and the cakey, chocolate malts really add to the richness and flavour to the beer. Good.

On tap at lcbf. Black with a cola foam. Scent is brownies. Taste is gorgeous lactose Stout with light capsaicin back and manages to be loads of brownie flavors. Chocolate. Dry finish. Excellent.

Pitch black, brown head. Aroma has flapjack.... caramel, malt, some fruit. Flavour has all of that with some dark chocolate, liquorice and fortunately (for me) only a hint of the chilli. Enough to warn the tongue and add a little something. Nothing more. It’s grand.

Half in Doghouse. Thick black with a medium tan head. Leather, coffee, vanilla, chocolate aroma. Flavour is broadly similar with the chilli coming through at the end, albeit gently
