Smog Rocket Smoked Porter - Thick, dark & Robust
Inspired by the Industrial Revolution and the Steam Train.
Back in those days, the Porter was the everyday toast of the working-class masses. Let’s raise a glass to the people that made Britain ’Great’.

Porter. The way it’s meant to be.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2018 Roasty, smokey, chocolatey, and somewhat malty. Quite thin body for a porter but tasty nevertheless.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 Like drinking a nice porter next to a bonfire. On a cold January evening this does the job. Rich coffee, not too bitter with a reasonable finish. Slightly thin bodied but tasty all the same.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2017 330ml can. V. Dark brown with lasting beige head. Slightly smokey taste with liquorice and coffee dominating, earthy sweetness to finish with some bitterness. Nice but not the best I’ve had.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 32B / 13C). Can 33 cl - Batch L1189 (BBF 12.17). AROMA: medium roasted malt aroma with notes of biscuit, chocolate and some roastiness. slight sweet background. no smoke. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque with ruby highlights. medium moussy light brown head with good retention. TASTE: medium roasted malt profile with notes of biscuit, dark chocolate, slight coffee and faint licorice. medium-low bitterness with an almost dry and slightly roasted and bitter finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium-low carbonation. slight creaminess. OVERALL: a bood english porter base but without the advertised smokiness (at the end of its shelf life).

From the Needle & Pin, Loughborough. Smoky aromas and tastes as one would expect. Nice dark porter with subtle raisin and caramel flavours.
