Can. Dark brown. Aroma of lightly smoked oats touch of caramel. Like an oatmeal stout with smoke finish. Caramel and light hops. A bit thin

Creamy beige head soon left a cover on a black still body. Burnt roasted aroma. Medium body, active on the palate. Smooth on the back. Roasted malt, burnt coffee, dark sugar, aniseed, liquorice. Almost medicinal. Excellent from Beavertown - As ever!!

Shared at a tasting, thanks Panayiotis, small stable creamy head, aroma of dark bread, smoke and jerky, flavor of smoked meat, dark bread with a hint of barnyard, a bit on the light side. Nice and mellow, just a bit old.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2016 Zwart bier met mokkakleurige schuimkraag. Geroosterd aroma, licht metalig. Mout, koffie, pure chocolade, tabak, leer, dadel, beetje pruimen. Behoorlijk wat smaak voor een bier van slechts 5,4 %. Mist wel een beetje body maar dat kan je dit bier niet kwalijk nemen.

330ml can from Casks & Corks, Southampton. Can says unfiltered. Theres no life here and no residue in the can, and it doesnt taste fresh, so I dont think the brewerys procedure is to reseed or rewort. The result is not that attractive. Folks seem to regard Beavertown quite highly so Im keeping an open mind, but this is not a good experience. The beer is crude with a greasy smoke. Perhaps served ice cold this might be more palatable, but at cellar temperature its cloying and unpleasant, and Im genuinely struggling to finish even this small amount.

Can. Pours dark brown with a very small, brownish head. Aroma is earthy, roast, some coffee, slight stingy hoppiness. Taste is slightly earthy, roasty, some liquorice, slight smoke in the background. Bit citrusy finish.
