Brett IPA This is the first in a line of rotating Tempus IPAs brewed with different wild yeasts, and/or bacteria with different hops each time. This batch is fermented with Saccharomyces “Bruxellensis” Trois, and dry hopped with Simcoe, Ella, and Motueka. The ultimate goal is to identify the perfect Tempus Ipa. Tempus IPA – Sacch Trois pours hazy straw colour, with a thick white head. Aromas of under-ripe pineapple, grapefruit, passion-fruit, blackberry, and lime. Taste is smooth, with a full mouthfeel from oats and wheat, with a pleasant bitter finish, and some after-notes of classic “brett” phenolic notes. Dry and refreshing.

Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day one, 08/09/17. A hazed yellow / straw coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is lemon shurbert, apple, wheat. Flavour is composed pale grains, straw, yeast, earthy straw, lemon. Palate is crisp, light mineral, moderate carbonation. Slightly thin. Nice.

Draught at The Nags Head, Reading, Berks. Hazy pale gold with white head. There was a slightly pongy, farmy nose to this, there is a sourness to the beer then resinous, grapefruit notes, bitter, pithy but with a late fruitiness. Heavy going in places but okay.

Beaverfest. Day 1. Keg. Light haze on this pale yellowish - gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Thin malts, lightly sweet. Good floralness with modest citrus. Very light and hardly any bitterness here.

Clear pale yellow beer, small creamy irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lovely smell, fruity, tropical fruits, bit dank, decent. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lovely bitterness up front, hoppy, bit sourish, lots of grapefruit, really dry bitterness. Aftertaste: hoppy, citrus, some tropical fruit, bitter ending. Nice one, I guess the beer is still fresh and the brett hasn't had a lot of time to eat all the hop aromas? :p

September 2017 - Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza. As 'Beavertown Tempus Project IPA Sacc Trois'. Hazy golden yellow with a small foamy off-white head. Aroma is airy, a touch farty. Body is light and frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is chalky, thin malts, slight citrus, papery, dry into the finish. Quite plain. Middling. (5-4-7-3-13=3.2)

Tropical fruits, mango, orange, lemon, lime, light funk, brett. Hazy gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light bitter. More unripe citrus and tropical fruits, orange peel, wet straw, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Nice one, rich and zesty. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, Canada Water.

Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza, day Juan, 08/09/17. Hazed yellow with a decent off white covering. Nose is light fart, on the turn melon, citric pith, lemon peel, damp hay. Taste comprises green berry tang, orange pith, pineapple chunks, citric tinged straw, stalr bread, brett rip. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light hop bitterness balanced with funk. Decent enough refreshing IPA/Xour crossover.

Zlotta (4503) - Hagen, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2017
Sampled from tap at Borefts 2017. Hazy, straw yellow with a white head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy aroma of lemon, gooseberry and pineapple. Slightly sweetish, moderately bitter, fruity-grassy taste of pineapple, lemon and gooseberry, followed by a short, moderately bitter, rather grassy and dry finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

Benzai (17009) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 28, 2017
Sampled @ Borefts Beer Festival 2017, day 2. Hazy pale yellow color, averaeg sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, nicely hoppy, citrussy hoppy a bit, slightly tropical fruits as well, lightly sweet ripe orange and grapefruit, nicely hop bitter and fruit hop bitter. Quite nice.
