Rating from 2005.
Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep ruby amber coloured, small, but stable lacy off-white head; quite robust sweet caramelly plus light roasted malty aromas with a hoppy background; solid sweet(-malty) and bitter flavour, medium bodied, soft MF; fruity and tosted-malty aromas (a bit Stout-like) in the drier caramelly-hoppy finish. Very good, well balanced and fully flavoured stuff........ rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 14, 2010
Draught at Akkurat.
Clear chestnut colour with creamy head. Sweet malty, light toasty nose with nuts and vague chocolate. Really grainy maltiness, and light sweet malty with bit of caramel and tad phenolic. Medium bodied. mjs (7357) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 15, 2011
(Bottle, 0.5 l, at One Pint Pub, Helsinki, 20110815) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had molasses, chocolate and mildly roasted malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were molasses, mildly roasted malts, caramell, chocolate, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste had roasted malts and bitterness. Very tasty and not too sweet dark lager. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2007
Bottled. A black beer with an off-white coloured head. The aroma is very malty. A little roasty and quite dry. Bready also. The taste is bready and has licquorice and coffee notes. Roasty and full bodied. Alcohol apparent. A little sweet but nicely balanced. A good beer.

(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a medium-sized light-beige foamy head. Sweet, dark and roasted malt aroma, almost Bock-like with caramel and liquorice, accompanied by very subtle notes of dried fruits. Bitter-sweet flavour with slightly doughy edges, medium to light bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Robust roast-malty taste, fairly complex with caramel, liquorice and hints of chocolate; moderately dry and bitter finish, derived from roasted malt and bitter hops. Pleasant, not too sweet and almost complex Dunkel with Märzen strength. ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 29, 2008

Bottle. Is red, deep color, slight haze and tan head. Nice sweetish malt aroma is great bread crust with raisins and dates. The palate is slightly thin but that just makes it quaffable and juicy. Great bread crust flavors, also with dried fruits. Really tasty well-made beer. Oakes (17676) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 17, 2009
