Not a bad beer, but not much different from regular Becks either. I’d takeit over American macrobrews or Heineken, but not much else. BeerNazi (169) - winnetka, California, USA - SEP 20, 2001
ok beer,not a top 50 of mine. Brent (116) - Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA - SEP 12, 2001
Not nearly as dark in taste as flavor. Mildly caramel without much depth. Mass produced character, but serviceable, particularly if fresh. JessterCPA (130) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - SEP 10, 2001
I was very surprised at this beer. Nice flavor & deep color. mike mcneil (660) - St Augustine, Florida, USA - SEP 4, 2001
Perhaps the ’dark’ is due to the addition of food coloring, because the taste does not reflect the use of any dark malts. Doesn’t differ much from regular Beck’s. Not one to buy if you’re in the mood for a dark beer.

Becks is just plain bad. Becks puts a tarnish on germany’s usually great beers. The flavor was poor. trappist12 (200) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - AUG 30, 2001
Unimpressive, but tolerable. Almeter, The Aryan God of Beer (13) - USA - AUG 25, 2001
A good dark beer, but not one of the best. Has a slight burnt nutty taste that stays around in your mouth a little too long. But, its still good and easy to find. Osmin99 (120) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - AUG 1, 2001fishman (350) - Philadelphia, USA - JUL 29, 2001
Very nice brown color, light lacey head. Smells very similar to regular Beck’s. Tastes very fuzzy, but there isn’t much complexity, a very slight burnt nuttyness. Not terrible, but there is other beer out there.
