2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: JUN 17, 2012 You can turn up your nose at this stuff if you want, but if it is a foregone conclusion that you’re going to drink an extremely light beer, this is probably your best choice. Yes, it’s watery, but at least it has some beer flavor and some hoppy overtones. And unlike other less-than-100-calorie choices, it contains about as much alcohol as a standard beer. Comparing it to 150-calorie beer is like comparing a Weight Watchers meal to a four-course steak dinner. Of course it’s not as good, but everybody knows that. That’s not the point. If you want to get rid of the beer belly without giving up beer, this is an acceptable tradeoff.
**************** Comment added after original rating: OK. Mea culpa. I’ve had a couple more bottles, and you’re right. It’s awful. I’d rather keep the beer belly.

2015 BJCP Category: 5A German Leichtbier
AROMA: Faint malt presence and a hint of cereal-like sweetness. Extremely faint spicy hops. Clean fermentation. No light strike despite green bottles. 7/12
APPEARANCE: Pale/straw hue (1-3 SRM). Extremely clearly. Effervescent. Large bright white foam mostly dissipates but still laces. 3/3
FLAVOR: Little in the way of genuine taste (but that's the point). Palette has hints of base malt with a cereal flavor, but it's mild to say the least. There is more bitterness from the carbonation than the hops. Perhaps a hint of Noble Hop spice in the background somewhere. Clean, dry aftertaste. Clean fermentation. 13/20
MOUTHFEEL: Light body; medium-high carbonation. Smooth, crisp, clean. Refreshing, quaffable and sessionable at only 2.3% ABV. 5/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Since this is the only example of the style you're likely to get in the USA, it's at least in the ballpark. Not bad, just boring. 6/10
TOTAL SCORE: 34/50
355ml bottle, US produced. At a wedding I crashed one time. Its a horribly shitty pale lager. Itzjerm (3074) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - MAR 1, 2017
For what this is, it isn’t horrible very low calorie and still almost like a beer, it drink like a NA beer, but has a little of buzz worthiness. Sweet grainy, decent body especially considering abv. Good for after a run or mowing if you are trying to hold back on the beer. beer_rookie (635) - Arkansas, USA - MAY 15, 2016
12 oz green bottle. Yay!JeepGC4x4 (31) - Massachusetts, USA - SEP 9, 2015
Pours a very light pale color. My tap water is darker than this. It has a white head that vanishes almost as quickly as it appears. No retention, no lacing. The best part about this is the fact it is so clear, the bubbles floating around in there are quite pretty.
Aroma is no skunk! Has the typical Euro lager aroma. You know what I’m talking about. Grassy, bready, not bad.
Taste is pretty much the typical Euro lager taste. Tastes like Becks, Heineken, etc, only much lighter. Spicy hops are the dominant taste. Hops and water. There’s a metallic sort of taste deep into the finish.
Mouthfeel is very light, very watery. Despite that, it’s super duper drinkable, I mean afterall, it’s mostly water. I guess this would be insanely refreshing on a hot day. However, it’s lacking body to make it too enjoyable.
Overall, it’s not so good. It is great for a low calorie, diet beer. But that doesn’t make it worthy of a good score. It’s decent enough that if I were offered, I wouldn’t turn it down. It’s light enough, that if it were skunked, you probably wouldn’t notice. It’s bottled water, really, it’s all it is. If you offer me this, or Dasani, I’m taking this hands down. This beer beats the snot out of Dasani!!!
Very light color beer. It doesn’t taste like much; very mild. Moderate level of carbonation. Overall, slightly underwhelming.

Notes from BJCP tasting session, 2-4oz sample from 12oz bottleFestDecBeet (412) - - MAY 8, 2015
Aroma: spicy (maybe saaz) hops, grainy and sweet malt, clean fermentation
Appearance: pale straw, brilliant clarity, white head
Taste: grainy sweet, low to medium bitterness with spicy and/or noble hops, very clean ,well lagered, with a dry finish
Palate: very light body, medium carbonation, smooth
Overall: A very well made light beer, just not my thing. The bitterness was very subtle and I’d prefer a tad more noticeable bitterness. Great clarify and color.
Ok beer. Just a little too light for my taste. Needs a little more body. Mouthfeel seemed light as well. PhatCatt (87) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - FEB 12, 2015
UPDATED: APR 9, 2017 Not much foam when it poured into a glass, white head, clear beer color with not much too it (nothing interesting). Not offensive. Would’ve been much better had it a fuller flavor, but its overall not bad for a beer this light. stoferj (1) - Dublin, Ohio, USA - JAN 4, 2015 does not count
My favorite light lager. Clean and crisp with more flavor than others in this genre. Perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. rondphoto (4489) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - NOV 8, 2014
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear light straw color, barely visible rim head, no lace, only a couple of rising bubbles to give it any life. Taste is very light malt that has an adjunct contributing a little on the swallow. Not much there, but it matches the regular Beck’s in flavor, and it is better than Michelob Ultra and its brethern,
