i mistakenly bought this thinking it was made in Germany. that’s what I get for not following the happenings of Brauerei Beck & Co. lightly effervescent clear gold body with a short white head. vitamin powder, sweet apple juice and sweet cooked rice in the nose with hints of chlorine and white raisin. light body, high carbonation, low bitterness, medium sweetness - the sweetness and fizzy carbonation feels like apple hooch alcopop. horribly bubbly and thin and watery texture with grating carbonation and sweaty lemon oil hops. 12 ozbottle This appears to be a AB product the pale alger poured a crystal clear light copper color with small head that dissapated. The aroma was sweet like cake. The taste is like sweet bread and not much in the hops area. the medium body lager had soft carbonation. It is a surprisingly smooth beer with a clean finish with some sweetness.

Bottle from Spirits Manahawkin, had to find out what a sapphire hop supposedly taste like, and apparently it tastes like nothing. Bland cereal malt, grass, clippings, light watered down floral hops, there is no reason to ever make this beer. pkbites (970) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 3, 2013
"BECKS" my red haired ass! This is made in St. Louie by Bud! The rear label claims it was brewed under the German purity laws of 1516. So why do I detect field corn? Darker corn water pour with almost no head and zero lacing on the glass. Aroma is truly weird. I can’t place it. But it doesn’t smell like anything natural. Flavor is flat, with forced bittering. Little thirst quenching carbonation and not a very nice flavor either. Almost no aftertaste. There is a weird "astringent" taste to it, sort of like a Band-Aid would taste like if it were liquid. I paid $6.99 for a six pack of bottles which is a zillion dollars too much.
Fuck this slop!!! jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - MAR 3, 2013
12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pourz a clear gold with minimal white head. Aroma is mostly grains. Taste is light bitter. Corn and grains. These sapphire hops dont do a whole lot for me. Light bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, its kinda a dog.

Sampled totaling a number of three times yesterday in town. Bright yellow with which a trim snowy white head rested upon. Tin, corn oil, hay, and LME: that’s how it smells, and that’s how it tastes. Finished. Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a clear gold with a stark white head. The nose is a mix of skunky euro lager and florals. The flavor has a sweet vegetal thing going on to mix with the euro lager taste. Light in body with a lingering finish. Pretty abysmal but I drank the whole thing anyway. halfonit (1393) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Nothing special or different about this one. All it is is just Becks beer put into a dark brown bottle. Honestly, that’s it. llbjr77 (89) - Largo, Florida, USA - FEB 28, 2013
Nice initial taste and no after taste. Wish it was darker.....cannot taste the higher alcohol content. One of the better Beck’s offerings. billtheman (87) - milford, Delaware, USA - FEB 27, 2013
Watery appearance, bought a six pack thinking it was Becks of Germany. Not that great a taste, but better then anything else Anheuser-Busch has ever created. Will finish off the six pack, since bought it, then relegate this beer to the forget it column.
