COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our original Beck’s is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden color and full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

I'm surprised to see the lower rating on this one; I thought this was a very nice pils, if a bit plain. A decent party offering, though I prefer the Becks Dark.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2003 Had this in a can while on a rafting trip. Malty aroma with a subtle hint of hops. Slightly complex flavors without the skunky taste you get in the bottles, but with the metallic mouthfeel. Great beer for a hot day on the raft!

slightly skunked nose. taste is malty; very little bitterness; annoying metallic aftertaste.

Nothing like a German beer to brighten your day, clean, crisp, goes down easy.

Like St. Pauli , Heineken, and Bitburger, another frat boy special.."I look classy with this mass produced import", just very bland, very boring.

I'll second what Ingevara said. Everyone has tried this terrible brew. Why people pay so much for a "lightstruck, green bottled, skunked-out beer" is beyond my comprehension. Frankly, I don't care. This beer pretty much blows!

A thin tasteless soup without any traces of aroma or bitterness. An all through disappointing brew. Why does anyone pay for this?

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2003 From a can. Pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is a little skunky. Flavor is bready and metalic. Some bitterness in the finish.

The flavor turned me off right away. Not much of a head and not much for the smell either. I was disappointed.

Very good for a mass produced pils. I personally can't get over the garden pea nose. Often skunked if bought off the shelf. Decent crisp taste but has a dodgey malt balance. Nice head, nice colour. OK for americans but we can do better here.
