Our original Beck’s is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden color and full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

16 oz can into a pint glass. A: Pours a clear straw color. There’s one fingers worth of white colored head. While retention isn’t great, it’s better than other macro lagers. S: There’s some malt sweetness, some corn sweetness, but no skunk, though! Shame there aren’t any hops to cut through the malt, though. Better than Bud, at least. T: Really, there isn’t much. It’s got malty sweetness, touches of creamed corn, and - most distressingly - a green apple/formaldehyde finish. Finishing bitterness is nonexistent. The flavors aren’t any good, and the off notes are the final nail in the coffin. M: Nice and light on the palate, but too sweet. Carbonation is healthy, as expected. O: Well, it lived up to my expectations. No more, no less. Next!

Lager pilsen alemana. Es seguramente la mas conocida de las Beck's. Poca espuma, color claro. Gusto a lúpulo refrescante. Amargor medio. Cuerpo ligero, filtrada. No me va mucho el sabor, pero el lúpulo no es rudo como en otras. Cervecilla para aperitivo o para tomar fría en verano.

Tap @ Freimarkt Bremen, oktober 2017.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2017 (12oz bottle) AROMA: light biscuit and yeast, soft malt, wheat APPEARANCE: medium-light straw yellow, clear, nice visible carbonation, one finger white head, foam is dense small bubbles TASTE: soft malt, some dairy/cheese, small touch of smoke and barrel, grass and herbs, some noble-ish (Bavarian) hopness PALATE: relatively light body, good sparkle upfront then some softness, tad creamy, good balance OVERALL: a nice looking lager, nothing too special but better than many average lagers, respectable nose, has some nice Bavarian taste, missing that extra kick however easy and pleasurable to drink.

One of (if not the) best selling German Pils on a global perspective. Turns out to be more on the bitter end of the scale. Always a save bet, when you have a BBQ or party. But then again, as a globally exported mainstream beer, it lacks any special features to make it stand out here.

Bottle from ASDA, Washington. Very pale golden coloured with a thin white head. It has a sweet floral anfd gentle grassy flavour followed by herbal and fruity notes on the finish. Ok, but too high an ABV for the flavour.

Bottle. Pours a sparkling pale golden color with minimal white head and somewhat lively carbonation. Skunky aroma. Somewhat sweet flavor. Light bodied with a bit of hops in the finish. Not great but I would like to try this on tap to avoid it being lightstruck.

660 ml bottle,bb 07/2018. Golden, clear, thin, quickly vanishing head. Nose - malt,grass/hay, distant echo of open sewer. Taste - inoffensive, generic "premium" lager.

Typical cloudy golden colour. Has a hoppy aroma which took me back to my teenage days of sneaking into dive bars and staggering into a urinal. Not sure if that's a good thing. Taste is thin with fairly high carbonation. Big on hops, grass, steamed vegetables and a bitter creamy aftertaste. Not bad, but not really much better than other domestic lagers, despite being marketed as premium and often costing more than the likes of Carling and Fosters.

Beck’s pours a clear lager-yellow color. Its head is tall, of medium lifetime, and leaves no lacing behind. The nose isn't particularly complex, but it is solidly noticeable with cereal notes from the malt with grass and light cannabis notes from the hops. It has a faint acidity right from the front palate, then it proceeds to reveal the simple, metallic-bitter contribution from the hops. The finish is rather short, wherein the heat from the alcohol is well hidden. The medium to lively carbonation offers a decent texture. Inoffensive, trivial, boring.
