CapFlu (5127) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 16, 2005
(4 oz sampler) 2005 Cidres & Crepes in the Eastern Townships. Creamy almond head with a copper body. Nose of bitter hops atop a caramel matl mountain. Flavour is far richer with a pummelling malt toned only by a distant hop scenery. Elusive hops but very good!

Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 5, 2005
Clear orange. You can’t get much more lacing than that, this is a great sticky off-white foam. Bedondaine has really got the trick to produce those rocky heads that leave this forever-lasting collar around the glass. Aroma is earthy caramel malt, very sweet. Rooty and leafy fruity notes reminiscent of melon or cantaloup. Sweet honey hints dominate the palate while a light grassy bitterness tries to balance it all. Understated hops bring on orange suggestions. Mild almost smoky fruity finish, citrusy and closing on candy. Light-medium bodied, soft carbonation as seems to be the rule at Bedondaine.

Miguel (1181) - Saint-Ours, Quebec, CANADA - APR 16, 2005
Robe rousse aux accents cuivrés. Arômes de framboise. Saveurs de malts caramélisés et de framboises. Houblon franc. J’aime bien.

MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 13, 2005
The Lure:
Mango, honey and caramel all elevate the malty sweetness to near-complexity, as a cereal touch adds freshness.

The Festivities:
Sweet honeyed malt and light citrusy bitterness make for a spicy blend. Pillowy carbonation eases the quaffing, but might get boring after a while. Well-made for long sessions and conversations.

The best view is definitely not towards the bottom of the staircase, but at least there is a staircase.

tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - APR 13, 2005
Sweet, fruity aroma with some light, herbal hops and a grainy malt charcter in the nose. Clear copper-amber with a decent, off-white, fine-bubbled head that recedes to partial cover and ring with decent lacing and excellent clarity. Crystal/caramel malt flavours are abundant with some herbal, minty, leafy hop flavours to add counterpoint and a gentle finishing bitterness to keep from cloying. Smooth texture with low carbonation and medium body. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with MartinT.
