Loved this. Strong and delicious. Taste is clean, hop profile is delightful. Only complaint is body almost too full.

12 oz on tap, aged 1 year at grand cru event. Hazy orangey pour, almost no head. Aroma of belgian yeast, fruit (peaches, plums) and bread. Taste is messy, lots of fruitiness, yeast, alcohol, quite hot actually and lacking balance on the palate.

Aged for one year. A golden amber ale with a thin creamy light moka head. In aroma, a rather interesting goat milk malt, with some honey notes, licorice, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth licorice malt, very restrained, nice and smooth, with herbal malts, attenuated spices, warming alcohol. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 26 2010.

In short: A bland boozy sweet phenolic beer. No thanks.

How: Tap at brewpub

The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a small off-white ring

In long: Nose is annoyingly phenolic with the floral hops have a not-so-fun perfume character. Taste has higher alcohols, bready malts, nail polish, some caramel, too much residual sugars. It was a good beer day at Bedondaine on that day, but this one was a total letdown. Was it too old? a bad batch? I don’t know but what went wrong but this beer had more problems than a math teacher book. And just like a teacher, this beer was rather lazy. It did work for me, or maybe it works six months a year just like a teacher. Talking about teacher who really only work 6 months a year, I was drinking this beer with this ratebeer admin who…

Pours a clear dark copper color with a thin offwhite head. Nice aroma of fruits and yeast with slightly toasted malt. Good flavor of fruits and yeast, the malt is slightly toasted and there’s a bitterness in the end that doeasn’t fit much with the style. There’s a sweetness akin to maple syrup that gives some balance to the bitterness though. The body is light with a liqurous texture and gentle carbonation.
