Cloudy dark ruby body (almost brown) with a very small off-white head. Faint caramel aroma. Watery body fails to hold together the liquid caramel, slight nutty flavours and very mellow leafy hops. Disappointing, one of the rare weak beer from this excellent brewpub. Brewed by Stephanie, an employee of the pub. Here’s hoping that Stephanie goes down better than her beer. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 14, 2006
Cloudy amber pour with a medium creamy offwhite head. Aroma and flavor of caramel and mild hops, the caramel sweetness is dominant but not cloying or overpowering. The body is medium with a creamy and smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Interesting but a bit more hops would have been nice. GonZoBeeR (3061) - ste-catherine, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 23, 2006

Hazy dark brown-reddish hue, with a frothy tan-colored head, slight malty nose, with note of fruitiness, caramelized malt, hint of rye cereals, grainy, nutty, with a toffeeish note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with a malty grainy character, hints of chocolate, coffee, with a toffeeish accent, leading towards a malty grainy, and a subtle hop bittering finish.

Opaque Ruby, a generous egg shell head. Barky, sweet, faintly nutty and strongly cerealic as most Bedondaine’s beers, always expertly extracted malts, yet not very attenuated. Earthy in mouth, growing toward almonds nuttiness, but mostly simple and sweet. Mellow hops bring more earthiness along with a leafy, almost floral background that contrasts with the fruity brown sugars. Softest carbonation stays at a low level, accentuating the sweetness that contrasts with the easy to drink profile derived from a light body.
