Aroma citric hop, banana, clove. Nice weizen approach. Classic feel. Slight fruity notes at finish.
Top: long lasting creamy, medium plus sized top.
Base: dark amber.
Palate : soft, milder carbonation.
Taste: Touch of pear, touch of citrus with mild banana notes.
Other notes Good.
625 ml bottle from brewery. Pours a murky orangey brown with average-sized off-white head. Aroma is toasty, sweet banana, candy sugar and light spice. Flavour is quite toasty with lots of banana, candy sugar, fruity esters and modest clove. Decent. HogTownHarry (7086) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - SEP 15, 2012
June 20, 2012 - at The Beer Academy launch event. Draught sample. Very cloudy orange with a small but lasting creamy/foamy beige head. Dunkelweizen? Really? Okay, I guess they know best. Incredibly sweet aroma, cloying almost, lightly spicy, banana and cereal grain - almost sugary. Taste follows, a little less candyish, a little floral bitterness creeps in, virtually no alcohol presence - ehh. The mouthfeel is a little thick, still, syrupy (actually almost hard to swallow, it was so malty), extremely sweet lightly fruity aftertaste - not really something I cared for. blankboy (7884) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 31, 2012
Draught at the brewery, June 20. Pours a murky orange-copper with a spare semi-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma is sugary sweet and with plenty of banana along with light malt and wheat -- almost like banana candy. Flavour of banana, sugar (though less then the aroma suggests, which is good), light malt and spice. Average bodied. Didn’t much care for this, too sweet, just O.K.

Note: Rated on opening week and some of these beers may be tweaked in the following weeks, if that’s the case I will re-rate in the future.

A tad light for a dunkel, but too dark to be a hefe. Loads of banana, colve and yeasty esters. Very lively carb, slightly heavy mouthfeel. Solid banana clove finish, and flavour with some bubblegum in the finish, but quite sweet also. JoeMcPhee (10137) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 8, 2012
It’s listed as a "dunkel" but it certainly isn’t that. Light brown, slightly ruddy pour. Some soft banana and a touch of clove as well. Pretty light malt profile with a hint of pepper. Bubble gun and some toffee. Okay. Sammy (13013) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 22, 2012
On tap at the brewery. Dark, a little sour.Chocolate malts. Hits the style, but not so drinkable.
