Very dark brown to black, nice looking tan head leaving some lacing.
Aroma: fruity, roasted malt, citrus.
Taste: hoppy, citrus, black currants, roasted, licorice, chocolate, toffee.
For the low ABV, this is very nice and full of flavours. kschep (1707) - DENMARK - MAY 27, 2011
nose is seaweed, heavy on cooked vegetables, weak licorice, feel is mediumweak, carb is low, taste follows nose with an early tar note Adenila (1560) - DENMARK - SEP 25, 2010
Draught at Ølbaren. Very dark brown look with a nice light brown head. Lovely Nelson hop aroma of grape and mandarine, i never grow tired of this hop sort. The fresh hops are backed up by some sweet chocolate and caramel along with toasted bread and roasted malts. Big flavor for a normal abv beer, especially the hops bring a strong fresh bitterness but the smooth sweet full rounded palate does add something aswell, especially as the beer warms up. Great beer! esox (1225) - Oulu, FINLAND - DEC 8, 2010
Bottled. Perfect looks: dark ruby with rich head. Fruity sweet hop aroma(apricots, some perfumy soap) with roasted malts. Dark chocolate and a hint of ash in the finish. Dry maltiness, a touch of caramell and bitter aftertaste with enjoyable combination of dark malts and slightly resiny bitterness. Smooth, rich texture. No way thin one is 4,7% abv. rane (1060) - Nibe, DENMARK - DEC 11, 2010
Bottle. Dark brown with huge pale brown head. Aroma of grapes and roasted malts. Nice. Taste hoppy, dry grape, some bitterness, and a bit of malt in the background. Given only 4.7% ABV this is an amazingly taste beer, but I can´t see the meaning of the black IPA style.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2011 Nice nutty brown pour with a nice tanned head. Aroma has mango, pineapple, apples, burnt rubber, the nice ole nelson sauvin, lightly roasted and caramel. It tastes amazing of lots of nelson with pineapple, mango, apples, slightly roasted and caramel sweetness, quite the same as the nose. This beer rocketh! bluebetty (1021) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 25, 2011
Bottle. Pours very dark brown with dense dark tan coloured head. Nice lacing. Initial aromas are dominated by tropical fruit aromas of the hops. The very quickly give way to some rainy pine, roasted grain, a little light chocolate and perhaps a hint of skunkiness. Flavours show of the grain nicely with plenty of roast astringency and some hope bitterness coming through on the finish. Medium mouth feel beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - SEP 17, 2010
Bottle. First i would like to say YAY Nelson Sauvin! The beer pours a black color with alot of ruby red notes coming through the bottom of the glass. Aroma is of nelson sauvin = tropical fruits like mango and pineapple. I also get grapefruit, and good amount of roasted malt. Flavor starts of with alot of tropical fruit, the mango and pineapple, peach, grapefruit and a nice bitterness. Then i get roasted malt, espresso coffee and some smoke. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall this is a really good BIPA, but not as good as Dark Hops. Blom (837) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 9, 2010
Tap at Carlsens Kvarter. Bottle. Brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted bread and citric fruits. The flavour is light sweet and medium bitter, dominated by roasted malts and citric notes.

Bottle (50cl) at Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri, Oslo. Murky, dark brown colour with a red hue. Large light beige head with good retention. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, roasted malt. Medium body (very decent considering the ABV), average carbonation. Taste has a nice complex bitterness, both from IPA-style hops and a tannic berry element (a bit like crowberries). Also a stout-like dryness in the aftertaste.
